All PETE majors must take the PRAXIS II before the completion of Pro-Block IV (CI 4020).

Required Test PETE: Physical Education Content Knowledge (K-12) 5091

Required Test for HPE: Health and Physical Education Content Knowledge (K-12) 5857

Code for submitting scores to Office of Field Experiences is 5010

Whether qualifying scores are required at this time or not, you should work to pass these tests as it will eventually be a requirement for you when you apply to move from a Standard Professional I License (good for your first three years of full-time service) to the Standard Professional II License.

SENIOR/GRADUATION AUDIT

Audit Purpose: To ensure that all requirements have been/will be met upon graduation.

Senior Checks are conducted at 85 earned hours.

Graduation Audits are conducted after a student applies for graduation.

All checks are completed automatically and the student is contacted via e-mail with their audit.

Issues with a completed audit should be directed to the CHS Dean’s Office, D. D. Dougherty Hall, Rm 148. Contact Tina Robbins ([email protected] or 262-8145) for more information.

GRADUATION APPLICATION

When Should You Apply For Graduation?

Starting in Fall 2014, students will apply for graduation in the term immediately BEFORE the term in which they will complete all coursework for graduation (including internships, study abroad, etc.). Example: Students graduating in May will apply in Aug. Example: Students graduating in Dec. will apply in Jan.

There is a $15 fee to apply to graduate per distinct degree.

Certification with ASEP) HPE 3010 Coaching Principles – 100% online. Begins Summer I 2015 (as PE

3549). Offered each summer 1 thereafter. HPE 3020 Sport First Aid – Begins Spring 2016. Offered each Fall and Spring

semester from that point forward. Course is face-to-face with an online component. Will lead to Red Cross Cert.

HPE 3030 Sport-specific Coaching – 100% online. Begins Summer II 2016 Offered each Summer II thereafter.

*General Education Students (entered Fall 2009 or later): Earned 30 semester hours, A C-GPA >2.0 (C) Successfully completed English 1000 UCO 1200 or US 1150 completed or current enrollment

*The 60 hour rule for Major declarationIf you have 60+ earned hours and are eligible, you mustdeclare your major or you will have required advising with your University College advisor before you will be able to register for classes.

To change a declared major…

You should go to the department of your intended major and request a transfer of your records.

Example: If you previously declared business, but you now plan to major in Health and Physical Education, go to the Department of Recreation Management and Physical Education and fill out a request to have your records sent from the College of Business to RMPE.
