INTRODUCTION

•Indian airlines – the name of india’s national carrier conjured up an image of a monopoly gone berserk with the absolute power it had over the market.

•During the 1990s, the government took various steps to turn around IA and initiated talks for its disinvestment.

•In 1994 the air corporation act was repealed and air transport was thrown open to private players.

•IDENTIFICATION OF THE QUALIFICATIONS APPROPRIATE TO ALL THE POSTS IS A BASIC REQUIREMENT OF EFFICIENT HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT.

•From nov. 1989 to june 1992-jan. 1993, there was a 46-day strike by the pilots and yet another one in nov. 1994.

•Indian airlines said that had to go for massive cost cutting and human resource management initiatives if it wanted to go back on the tracks.

1) Present the case.

• Indian airlines was formed in may 1953 with the nationalization of the airlines industry.

• The case all about indian airlines in which competitions high and company go down because staff costs increased to an alarming Rs. 5.9 bn during 1994-98.

2) Identify the hr issues responsible for degradation of indian airline.

•When airlines suffiring from competation than that time Hr should take some decions.•Some changes, some policy , scheme•Hr not calculated properly to whom should be paid to how much .

3) Had you been appointed instead of Mr. Sen , how would you have attempted to solve the Hr issues.•Employees opinion• I would have provide them some facilities.• Updating the pilots with new technology.• This will force pilots to be loyal towards the airlines.
