INTRODUCTIONAccording to Arthur James Todd, welfare as anything done for the comfort or improvement and social of the employees over and above the wages paid, which is not a necessity of the industry.

Employee welfare implies the setting up of minimum desirable standards and the provision of facilities like health, food, clothing housing, medical allowance, education, insurance, job security, such as to safeguard his health and protect him against occupational hazards. STATEMENT OF PROBLEMIt is every companys responsibility to take care of their workers by providing welfare (both statutory and non-statutory) for their well being and improve output

Sometimes the welfare measures which are to be fulfilled are either not taken care or delayed. Due to this there may be labour disputes, internal problems such as non-cooperation of the employees, low production and in extreme cases there may be even strikes, lockouts and other catastrophic events

NEED AND IMPORTANCE This study helps to find out the knowledge level of the workers in terms of welfare basis and also the level of job satisfaction the existing welfare has achieved in the workers perspective thereby finding out which are the welfare areas which needs to be modified thereby preventing problems from occurring

OBJECTIVESTo study about various welfare measures (statutory and non-statutory) taken by the organisation.To study the extent of awareness on companys statutory and non-statutory welfare among the workers of the organisation.To study the satisfactory level of the welfare measures among the workers of the organizationMETHODOLOGIESRESEARCH DESIGN = Descriptive research design SAMPLING TECHNIQUE = Cluster random sampling methodUNIVERSE = The low and middle level workers of RANE LTDSAMPLE SIZE = 50 employees presently working TOOLS OF DATA COLLECTION:PRIMARY DATA = Questionnaire methodSECONDARY DATA = labor law books, journals and websites etc.
