INTRODUCTION

As we know most of POLIKU students were staying outside

They usually used own transport or public transport

The reasons why we want to study about the transportation issue are:

a) we want to investigate about the problems that may be appear when they used those transports and staying outside

b) we want to analyse student satisfaction about the parking spaces

c) we want to know what students reaction about solution to improve parking space problems

Page 6: Presentation 1

PROBLEM STATEMENT

a) The increase number of student’s intake per semester cause a shortage of room vacancies for senior students. Therefore, they have to stay outside and used their own transport or public transport.

b)Students complain that they have to spend more for transportation and fuels than food.

c) Students are always late for classes or does not attend the classes because lack of public transport.

d)The percentage of students getting involved with accident increases.

e) Parking spaces are limited due to the student using their own vehicles. Therefore, they have to park outside PKS.

Page 7: Presentation 1

Research objectives

i. To investigate the percentage of students using their own transport or using the public transport

ii. To identify the student’s expenses on fuel per month

iii. To find out the reasons why students that were using their own vehicles are late or does not attend classes.

iv. To analyse the percentage of students involved in accidents.

v. To analyse the number of students vehicles and parking spaces available in POLIKU

METHODOLOGY

METHODTo conduct this mini project, we had

decide to use the quantitative data collection.

It is because quantitative research are much more structured than qualitative data collection methods

Quantitative data collection methods include various forms of surveys, which are :

a) paper surveys b) online surveys c) mobile surveys d) face to face interviews

Page 10: Presentation 1

INSTRUMENT

a. TO ACHIEVE OUR OBJECTIVE, WE HAD DECIDE TO USE THE PAPER SURVEY.

b. WE HAD DISTRIBUTE 30 COPIES OF PAPER THAT HAS 10 QUESTION TO RANDOM STUDENTS IN POLIKU

c. IT IS BECAUSE BASE ON OUR OBSERVATION, THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS FROM EACH DEPARTMENTS THAT STAYING OUTSIDE

ARE ALMOST THE SAME

CONCLUSION

o Based on the data, we can conclude that the transportation issue was a very

big issue because from this issue, other problems can be happen

o The increase number of student intake per semester had force

the senior students to stay outside

o So, the result is students has to used their own transport to come to POLIKU.

o For students that were using their own vehicle, they have to find a parking space

and students that used the public transport, they have to wait for public transport

Page 22: Presentation 1

RECOMMENDATION

TO OVERCOME THIS PROBLEMS WE HAD A

FEW RECOMMENDATION,

THEY ARE:

INCREASE THE PARKING SPACES FOR STUDENTS

INCREASE THE CAPACITY OF HOSTEL

ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO CAR-

POOLING

PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION

FACILITIES FOR THE OUTSIDE STUDENTS
