Sending lesson reinforcement material home with a learner provides opportunities for parents to strengthen Bible knowledge their child learns in church. Sometimes, the material will require a skill that will challenge the child’s muscles and coordination. Do not expect success every time. However, as you encourage him to do the activities and offer help when needed, he will enjoy try-ing again. Scribble coloring is characteristic of children of this age. Encourage them with positive comments because they enjoy simply seeing color appear on the picture from their efforts. Have stickers from the center pages available.

Lesson 1, September 5, 2021 Noah Accepted God’s Will

The boy and girl in the picture are playacting the story with a block of wood and toy animals. Your learners will enjoy doing that, too. Give a sticker for each child to add to his picture. Ask questions about details in the picture. Are the boy and girl obeying God when they play together? They are kind to one another. The Bible says, “Be kind.”

Lesson 2, September 12, 2021 Job Accepted God’s Will

Loving Jesus back is how we worship Him. Color the picture and add the flower stickers. Option: make a touch-and-feel picture by adding silk blooms to the flowers. A stem of small, artificial flowers is an inex-pensive but meaningful addition to children’s art. Add small pieces of fabric to Jesus’ garment and yarn to the hair.

Lesson 3, September 19, 2021 Gideon Accepted God’s Will

The children may color the picture before adding the stickers of the boy and girl. Accepting God’s will for a little child means obeying Him by praying and obeying parents.

Lesson 4, September 26, 2021 Elijah Accepted God’s Will

Sing the rhyme while learners add their stickers to the pictures. Emphasize how God provides the food they eat. God is good to give us food that makes our bodies grow strong and healthy. We should always pray to thank God for our food before we eat.

Lesson 5, October 3, 2021 The Baby in the Basket

Allow time for learners to study the picture to find the five hidden baskets. Let them color over each basket they find. Who is the girl hiding in the grass? Who found the baby in a basket? What did the princess name the baby when he came to live with her as her little boy?

Lesson 6, October 10, 2021 Moses and the Burning Bush

Ahead of time, cut out the figures. Provide a lunch-size paper sack, crumpled newspaper and a cardboard tube for each child to complete the project. Open the sack folds. Add glue to the back of the figures and attach to opposite sides on the sack. You may use two sacks if you prefer. Stuff the sack loosely with crumpled news-paper. Insert a cardboard tube and tape the edge of the sack to it. Then tie the opening of the sack around the tube. Encourage learners to role-play the story with their sack puppets.

Lesson 7, October 17, 2021 Moses Helps God’s People

Read the story aloud while learners look at the pic-tures. This incident actually happened and vividly illustrates the bad results that follow disobedience. Use voice variations to maintain interest for very young children. After reading, ask learners to choose which picture shows Brian obeying. Give them the happy face sticker to put on that section.
