Mission
• Open peoples eyes – Free art around the corner
• Improve the image– No vandalism but form of art
Target group
• Youngsters: 16 - 28 years old – Pupils and students
• Inhabitants of Leuven
Original idea
• Printed ‘street art map’
• Guided tours
• Cooperation tourism department and youth department of Leuven
Evolution
• More knowledge about street art
• Conversations with artists and people with more background
→ more dynamic online platform, exhibition, workshops and live perfomance on wall

A Street Art Event in Leuven

Our most important contacts are…
• October 2011: first contacts with gmail adress [email protected]
– Street Art Belgium by Robine – Youth Department of Leuven by Anke– Pangaea by Erica: reserved the date we would like to
organise our little festival: 19 April 2012 (a Thursday).
Street Art Belgium
• Is an organisation that is very inspiring for us, since they are doing basically the same what we want to do, but on a larger scale.
• They agreed to help us by:– Sharing their contacts and artists with us – Insights regarding the funding and promoting
of our event
Youth department of Leuven
• They agreed to offer us some space on their website and promote us and the event we were planning to do: http://www.mijnleuven.be
• Anke went to look for other street artists that have a connection with Leuven
• From March on, nearly every week an article or an interview with a street artist will be posted on the site of the youth department
Pangaea
• International meeting center of KULeuven
• Agreed to host our event on the 19th of April 2012 • Agreed with one of our important goals: the
restoration of the exterior wall of the Pangaea building.

• An interesting chat with Bruksel Binnestebuiten during our trip to Brussels. The outcome of this meeting consisted in insights regarding:
– Organizing guided tours– And creating maps

• Conversation with Hans Geyens – the central artist in the network – and he gave us further contacts from other street artists from Leuven and several tips:
– To drop the static map– To consider painting the exterior wall of Pangaea– And refreshing methods to promote street art like
stickers

• writing a number of articles for the site of the youth department featuring DinDin, Sir5, Hans, Pure, Bisser
• Start up of the street art map of the youth department of Leuven
• we became a partner of ‘Leuven in Scène’ – a theatre festival in Leuven containing a side event for young people that focus on forms of street theatre
April
• we were contacted by a number of organizations that wanted to work with us:
– Cult! : the culture program of Radio Scorpio– Happy Campers – The Youth Department of Leuven wants to work with
us around legalising a wall in Leuven, namely the Brugbergpad at the station.
The budget
Costs and the search for finances…
All the organizations and contacts mentioned before offered their help, by promoting us and our event, by offering partnership for their events but for now they could not help us financially.
Costs• Total budget : 411.26 EURO consisting in:
– Adevertising and promotion• Website streetartleuven.be: 44 euro
– Insurance art works• Provided by Kunstwerkt.be: 120 euro
– Printing and publication by eventdrukker.be• Stickers: 250*A8 = 56.52 euro • Flyers: 1250*A6 = 40.74
– Equipment, materials and other capital expenses • Spray cans ordered by ArtPrimo.com : 5,95 $ * 10 = ca. 50 euro
– Other expenses • Protocol costs: 100 euro
