1. The name of my documentary is going to be..To get this into mydocumentary I willediting it into myfilmI will also be editing onscreen text when needed.For example, when thereis an interview withDarcys mum I will putthis on the screen on thebottom left. 2. Firstly I have to think about the dialogue within my documentary..The main voice that will beheard within my documentaryis my voice overSome of my voice over canbe planned but other partsof it may need to berecorded after the filming.This is because you cannotguarantee that itll matchwith the filming. Forexample, Darcys actions willmostly not be plannedmeaning that my voice overwill have to match what sheis doing.My script:For the first bit of my documentary where Iam asking lots of individuals if they knowwhat Autism is will have to be scripted, thevoice over will be asking the questions:- What is Autism?- Can you tell me what Autism is?- Do you know what Autism is?I will also make there reaction be naturalbut give them guidance as why I am doingit and what I want their reaction to be like.For example I am hoping for reactions like:- Ummm..- Err..- Ermm..- I have no idea! 3. Another thing that will need to be scripted is when my voce overis talking about the facts and statistics. This is where my extraresearch of Autism and the characteristics of Autism is importantfor me to include:Autism is a life long development disability that affects how a person communicateswith and relates to other peopleIt affects how they make sense of the worldThey cant form friends as well as other people so they feel left outThey cant form friends as well as other people so they feel left outSudden change can make people with autism very anxious and nervousPeople with autism may look okay on the outside but arent on the outside it isntphysical enough for the general public to notice. This can often lead to people makingjudgementsI will also have to make sure that it fits in with Darcys actions for example if she isplaying on her own it may be relevant to the statement about how they cannot formfriends easily. 4. Other parts of my documentary script I will have to think about isthe dialogue of the individuals within the documentary..Because my documentary is observational, it meansthat most of the dialogue will not be planned. Forexample, when filming Darcy and her brother playingthey may be having a conversation which is justnatural instead of scripted. This is because it is acommon convention of a documentary to have atechnicality of realism.Another reason for this is because of theinterviews. This is because you cannotplan what the interviewee is going tosay. 5. Non-diegetic sound..There will also be a non-diegetic soundtrack when mytitle is coming up. I have looked at different musicand found that an upbeat ukulele song is ideal tohave in the back ground.The soundtracks in the corners are my two differentoptions. I have chosen to go for either of thesebecause they are upbeat and they lighten the mood.When doing research as to what would be a goodinstrumental track to use most people and websitessaid that a piano or ukulele would be good. 6. I then have to think about where I will be filming..I will be filming wherever I can. For example, if I amwith Darcy and we go to the park then I would filmher at the park. The majority of the filming of her orher family members will be in her house.I will also be having filming of things like motorwaysand roads sped up. I have decided to stand on abridge in Horley to get this part filmed. This isbecause it is a general convention within adocumentary as it can represent a journey, forexample if it were to represent me travelling toDarcys house. 7. This slide is about the costume and props that I will need..There are not many specific props or costumesthat I will need to have in my documentarybecause I want it to look as natural as possible.I will not be dressing any of my characters up asI want them to just be themselves so mydocumentary film is believable as possible.Some props that I may use may be toys whenfilming Darcy to make it look more childishand set the scene. 8. My lighting..Most of my lighting will be naturalunless I am inside when it is dark.This means that I will be using thelights within the buildings, therewill be no technical lighting due totrying to make it look as naturalas possible.
