Desks side by side, facing front, where age and lesson content appropriate, Teachers and school leaders will make these decisions on a lesson by lesson basis. At all times, hygiene and safety will be prioritised
Teachers were concerned that they had to ensure all chn were 1 or 2 meters away from each other and obviously couldn’t fit the chn into the class and not socially distance/mix Solutions:Staff will physically check how many chn can sit at kidney shaped table we thought 3 or 4
Year 1 and EY will share out tables so a mixture of kidney/ rectangle shaped tables can be used safely.
Teachers happy to arrange/ provide seating plans ( support offered)
Can chn move tables for maths / English?- we thought this was ok as its their bubble as long as tables are cleaned in between sessions?
15
Teachers will not be able to take children’s work home to mark and leave feedback
SolutionsNew marking policy regarding VF to be followed.Teachers decided that they would make use of LSA small groups marking(staff meeting for LSA tba)
Teachers to take home ‘cold/hot’ tasks on paper leave for the required time before sticking ( chn ) in books if needed. Stickers to be used in reading records
16
Use of communal spaces Pe Timetable organised so that one class uses it a day – then there is adequate time for cleaning
Timetable to be fluid so teachers can change if weather is bad(see timetable)
Teachers happy for children to wear PE kit on PE days. Footwear must be changed but to be lenient as they might be forgotten or no footwear changes brought in
No coaches/clubs until Spring Term to allow for Interventions and no cross mixing of bubbles.
SEND
Bikes/scooters to be used as sensory
movement breaks- can this be timetabled so more than 1 child can
access?

EYFS provision
Initially part time provision Include this bit of Govt advice in a general
letter to parents in the lead-up to Sept.
L
Parents/child separation may prove difficult
The parent will have to take the child home if they are too distraught
The parent can give permission for a staff member to physically take the child in (but
the staff member would need to be in full
agreement with this)

typed up.
Compiling Learning Journeys (e.g. sticking photos in, annotating
children’s contributions) needs to be completed
in school, where possible. If the books
are taken home by the teacher, they need to be returned to school and not touched again for
72 hours.
20
Coat storage Children hanging coats and bags on pegs during staggered entry to avoid overcrowding. At other times of day, children
collect coats etc in Family Groups to also avoid over-crowding.
Bentley - half early year’s pegs and half
year 1 pegs
Children bringing items in from home
Communicate with parents/carers that the policy is ‘no toys from home’. Don’t start a ‘showing-time’! have a ‘newstime’ instead, if desired. For SEND children, separate advice may be needed e.g. if they have a special object from home that helps calm them.
(Children have been asked to bring in a
paper bag of items from their summer holiday. Bags kept to one side for at least 72 hours, then only handled by
teacher and individual child.)
21
Outdoor activities Sand cannot be cleaned easily, so it shouldn’t be used at the moment.Water play – can be Completed in individual trays. Water can be shared in a larger tray if e.g. washing up/anti bac liquid addedUse materials such as stones in the small-world tray (as opposed to soil or dried pasta) so that they can be easily cleaned. Alternatively, use materials that can be thrown away after use (e.g. shredded paper).Follow Govt advice on washing laundry with regard to drapes and blankets.Discuss use of weighted toys/cushions with SENDCO.
