Surfing the web is made possible by Web browsers. Browsers are basically software programs that allow you to search for and view various kinds of information on the Web, such as web sites, video, audio, etc.

The Most Popular Web Browsers :

Microsoft's Internet Explorer: Most Internet users are using Internet Explorer because it's easy to use and most Web sites are written with Internet Explorer in mind, meaning that they are compatible.

Opera: Opera is another popular browser that's easy to use; however, it can have some compatibility issues with various websites.

Address bar:This is the box at the top of your browser window that displays the entire URL, or Web site address.

Toolbar Icons: The toolbar and its icons are at the top of your browser window right underneath the Title Bar. This is where you'll see the Back button, the Home button, the Refresh button, etc.

Display Window: The Display Window is just a fancy term for your browser work space; it's the frame through which you see this website right now.

Scroll Bars: If you've ever been to a website that you had to "scroll down" to read something, then you've used the scroll bars. They're just navigational/directional aids.

The first thing you should realize is that the Web is huge and contains vast amounts of information. Virtually any topic you can think of is covered in detail somewhere, and finding information about anything is easy if you know where to look.

There are services on the Web where you can go to retrieve this information that's somewhere out there on the Web, and these services are better known as search engines. Basically, search engines are just huge databases of indexed information. They don't necessarily contain the information itself, but they have the addresses (or URLs) where you can find it.

Search engines are out to make money, so while they offer a search service to you for free, they have to sell ad space to various companies in order to pay the bills.

After Step 1, you will be taken to the Facebook website. Fill in the details needed in the “Sign Up” section of the webpage.

The Sign Up page will ask for your full name, e-mail address, your preferred password, your gender and birthday. Once that’s done, click on the “sign up” tab.

Facebook will ask you to type two random words as part of a “security check.” This makes sure that a person is actually joining.
