Literacy ResourcesReading: (approx.. 10mins)We are learning to: use predicting and questioning strategies to make meaning from texts and recall one or two events from texts.
Use Mr Archimedes Bath or a story you have at home Before you read: look at the front cover and predict what the story
may be about During your reading: listen and enjoy the story After you read: has something ever happened to you like what
happened in the story?
Retell the story to someone (phone a friend/relative, stuffed toy or pet).
Writing: (approx...20mins)We are learning to: recognise the letters of the English alphabet and the most common sounds represented.

Parent information: Watch the ClassTag video released yesterday to explain the writing process of a simple sentence.
This is for parent knowledge and if you feel comfortable supporting your child to write a simple sentence, have a go at this one!
Please remember this is brand new learning and not an expectation.
NumeracyWe are learning to: make connections between number names and numerals and their representations.
Number: (approx.. 15mins) Roll a dice and copy the dot pattern exactly as it looks onto your paper
then write the digit and draw the correct number of pictures to match the number that you rolled
Repeat the task for every number on the dice ** Challenge. If you are confident working with one dice, you can try it with 2 dice Practise writing your numbers the correct way

Re-read Mr Archimedes Bath or the story from yesterday Before you read: what can you remember happened in the story? During your reading: choose two pages, pause and discuss the
character’s facial expressions and feelings After you read: discuss the beginning, middle (problem), ending
(solution). Draw 3 pictures to retell the story (beginning, middle, end)
Writing: (approx...20mins)We are learning to: recognise the letters of the English alphabet and the most common sounds represented.
Using your letter cards make a simple word. Swap sounds with a different letter to create a new word. How many words can you make?
Watch each video that is on ClassTag to learn the letter names, sounds and action ditties
Practise and revise the letter name, sound and action dittie for each sound just like Rosie from Prep A has done with rocks.

that number in your tens frame just like Mrs Patterson.** Challenge. If you are confident working within 0-10 you can work from 11-20 with two tens frames and your number cards to 20.
Shape: (approx…10min) Go outside and explore your house and garden. Find some sticks or
leaves and see which shapes you can make.
