Hierarchy Integrity is one of the cornerstones
of the Primerica business. Our reps work in-
credibly hard to bring new recruits into the
business and get them licensed and trained.
Nothing creates more frustration than situa-
tions where another agent then tries to
poach that agent, encouraging them to re-
quest a change in hierarchy.
It is very important that all of our reps under-
stand our Company’s policy on poaching. It is
very simple – don’t do it. It isn’t fair to your
teammates and it is the wrong way to build a
business and will give you a bad reputation
with your peers.
Everyone knows what poaching is. To avoid
getting involved in these situations, if a rep
from another hierarchy shows up in your of-
fice seeking your leadership, you should say
“I’m sorry but I can’t help you. Go back to
your upline and work it out.” Encouraging an-
yone to leave their hierarchy – even in its
subtlest form – is poaching. It violates a fun-
damental value of this Company and creates
unnecessary distractions for the people in-
volved.
Hand in hand with hierarchy integrity,
though, is the need to treat your downlines
with respect. Support your people. Recognize
them frequently. Ensure that you are pushing
your people up! By providing all the support
needed and building strong relationships
with your team, you will avoid situations
where they look for leadership elsewhere.
