WARM-UP

LEAD-IN

PRESENTATION

-T arrives the classroom in complete silence and only uses body language to communicate. The idea is that Ss realize that people are able to communicate without words. Then, T asks Ss if they would like to come to the front and try it

-T presents the aim of the lesson-T asks some questions in order to talk about the future

-T presents the affirmative and the negative forms of the simple future: will and won’t and relates it to the conversation-T asks Ss to form two rows and answer to the questions made by the teacher one by one. If they answer correctly, they may sit down; otherwise they have to go back to the end of the row.

-(body language greeting, asking for personal information)So, did you realize that we were able to communicate even if I did not say a word?Would you like to try now? Any volunteers? Come to the front.

-Ok, Today we are going to write some predictions for year 2050-But first, we need to see how to write them and talk about the misteries of the future.

-If you want to make a statement about the future you need to use the particle will and if you want to make a negative form, you use the particle won’t. -Ok, repeat after me I will…-Please, come forward and form two rows. I am going to ask you a personal question and you have to answer. If you answer correctly, you may sit, if not, you have to go back to

PRACTICE

PRODUCTION

-T drills pronunciation-T presents some predictions and asks the Ss whether they’ll come true or not in year 2050.

-T draws a chart on the board with different parameters to talk about the future following a number of different questions. The chart is also on the book, so they will have to join in pairs and work on it.

-T reads some predictions for year 2050 and then asks the Ss to make their own list of predictions (3 to 5) for 4 more years when they finish high school while teacher monitors and explains that next class they are going to plant it in the garden all together

the end of the row. The row that first finishes and everyone is sat, wins!

-Now I’m going to read some statements about predictions for year 2050, you decide whether they will come true or not.

-Ss, have a look at this. This activity consists in filling a chart (p. 60) using the following question: Will you…? And you have to answer yes or not in the chart. And then, ask your classmate the same questions and fill the chart again. There is enough space for both of you.

-I am going to read now some new predictions. Have a look at them (p.61) and try to create your own ones but this time, they will be for a 4 years’ time when you finish high school. We are going to plant them in the garden and I’ll leave someone in charge of extracting it in exactly 4 more years. Then, you’ll find out whether that prediction came true or not.You can share opinions with your classmate
