OPENING PRAYER
*HYMN Holy, Holy, Holy UM Hymnal, 64
PROCLAMATION AND RESPONSE
*AFFIRMATION The Apostle’s Creed UM Hymnal, 881 I believe in God the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he arose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
*GLORIA PATRI Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, in now, and ever shall be, world without end.
PSALTER from Psalm 8 O LORD, our LORD, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars that you have established;
what are human beings that you are mindful of them,
mortals that you care for them?
Yet you have made them a little lower than God,
and crowned them with glory and honor.
You have given them dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under their feet, all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field,
the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea.
O LORD, our LORD, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
CHORUS Jesus Remember Me Berthier Jesus, remember me
When you come into your kingdom
Jesus, remember me
When you come into your kingdom.
CALL TO PRAYER The Lord be with you.
And also with you. Let us pray.
THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
THE LORD’S PRAYER UM Hymnal, 895 Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
And the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
WORSHIPING GOD WITH OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS

RESPONSE The Covenant Prayer UM Hymnal, 607 I am no longer my own, but thine.
Put me to what thou will, rank me with whom thou wilt.
Put me to doing, put me to suffering.
Let me be employed by thee or laid aside for thee,
exalted for thee or brought low by thee.
Let me be full, let me be empty.
Let me have all things, let me have nothing.
I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal.
And now, O glorious and blessed God,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
thou art mine, and I am thine. So be it.
And the covenant which I have made on earth,
let it be ratified in heaven. Amen.

Today we are honoring all the “Fathers” in our lives. Whether you raised us, helped
raise us, prayed for us, or simply touched our heart when we needed it most, we would
like to say THANK YOU and WE LOVE YOU. Please make sure every man receives a
gift today.
The Compassionate Care Committee will NOT meet today at 3:00 pm. They will
resume their regular meeting schedule on Sunday, July 21.
VBS meeting—TUESDAY, JUNE 18, 6:30 pm for ALL volunteers at FUMC
Fellowship Hall.
Vacation Bible School is the week of July 29-August 2, 9:00 am to 12 noon at First
United Methodist Church. We are thrilled to be working with First Baptist and First
Presbyterian Churches. Our theme this year is “To Mars and Beyond”—we will help
kids discover the wonders of God’s universe. We need lots of volunteers for decorating,
music, science center, crafts, snacks, registration table, opening and closing assembly, age
group leaders to walk the children to the different centers, and nursery. Please call or
email Mary Griffith if you can volunteer for VBS.
Bishop Hope Ward has challenged the YOUTH across our districts to help those still
in need following Hurricane Florence by rasising $500,000 for NC Storm Relief. If
the youth meet the challenge, the NC Conference will match all gifts made to
YOUTH STORM RESPONSE. For the next 4 weeks we are taking monetary donations
for the NC Storm Relief. You can drop your donation in the flood bucket at the altar or
put it in the offering plate marked “Youth Storm Response”. Thank you for helping our
youth and families in our district.
Pennies for ZOE is Sunday, June 30. Please remember to bring your pennies.
