Sharing God’s Love One way we are working together as a church to share God’s love with our community is our “adoption” of the Orvis Risner El-ementary School. It is the closest elementary school to our church building, and we are serving our community through our work with this school. In your Bible Class, you may have heard about your class adopting a teacher and her class for the school year. Kelli and I recently visited the school and so many of the teachers expressed their gratitude and excitement about this partnership--several with tears of joy. It is a great opportunity to develop a relationship with a teacher and to serve our community. Helping children get a good educational foundation is important, and supporting this also brings us into contact with educators, students, and families. A couple of weeks ago directors of Memorial Road’s different ministries met, and they had some exciting ideas of ways various ministries can participate in serving Orvis Risner staff, students, and families. We will continue to work to implement those ideas, but here are some plans already set for service to Orvis Risner where we welcome your help as a volunteer.· Tuesday afternoon one-on-one reading program for Orvis Students. · Volunteer staffing of the temporary entrance until the perma- nent entrance is completed.· Helping provide clothing they keep on hand for students who are in need.· Volunteers for fall leaf clean-up, other work projects, and for spring test monitors. Please contact me to volunteer and watch for additional infor-mation as opportunities and ideas for sharing God’s love through this adoption develop.

Explorers Class Continues to Bless Spiritual Seekers

Our Explorers Class is custom designed for those who are in a season of spiritual exploration. This class features a friendly for-mat and relevant content especially intended for spiritual seekers. These ongoing sessions are perfect for those investigating faith, church, or Christianity for the first time. This class is also ideal for those with a desire to renew their faith journey. Each week par-ticipants spend time in scripture, with a particular focus on the life and teachings of Jesus. There are also regular opportunities to ask questions about God, faith, the Bible, and spirituality in a safe and welcoming environment. The class meets every Sunday morning at 9:35 in the Confer-ence Room. Kent Hartman is the primary facilitator for this class, while Mark Taylor and Terry Fischer also help out from time to time. Kent, and his wife Nancy, spent 17 years as missionaries in Australia. He now serves on the faculty of Oklahoma Christian as a Missionary in Residence. Kent also taught our Community Bible Class for a number of years. Kent and Nancy are uniquely gifted by God to love people and walk with them on their spiritual journeys. If you have ever desired to share your faith with a friend or family member, but have felt that their needs might not be met by one of our regular Bible classes, then this class may be the perfect fit. Invita-tion cards for the Explorers class are available at Information Central.

A TIME FOR OUR GUESTS TO LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR CHURCH FAMILY. EVERY SUNDAY AT 9:35 A.M.

IN THE PARLOR (ROOM A114).
