We take a short break from Sundays in Ordinary Time this weekend for a solemnity that is celebrat-ed on June 24 every year, no matter the day of the week: The Nativity of Saint John the Baptist. While still in the womb, John the Baptist was called to prepare the people for the coming of the Lord. We hear today from Jeremiah or Isaiah, two prophets also called by the LORD before they were born. We ourselves were not called by God in such a dramatic way. Yet by virtue of our baptism, each of us also shares in Christ’s prophetic and salvific mission. As we listen to the readings today, let us think about how we have been called.

SR CCD NEWS: Parents of First Graders, please register your child

for CCD by contacting Terry Mueller (402) 388-4733 or 605-660-6814 cell phone. Registration forms may be found in back of church on the St. Rose bulletin board. CCD students who did not hand in their CCD bags at the end of the school year, please promptly drop them off in the box in the St. Rose church entry.

Wednesday Adoration prayer intention for the month of June is to pray for the Deanery Planning Committee. There is a prayer you can use (below) throughout the month of June, please. Thank you for your prayers. ~Fr. Tim

Prayer for Planning in the Rural North Central Deanery Inspiring God, by the power of your Holy Spirit, you guide us and strengthen us. We pray, O Lord, that the future we plan, will be the future you promise us. Enliven us with your Spirit; keep us eager to accept the challenge of the Gospel, that our Parishes and Deanery may be a vibrant Church; where you nourish and unite us through the Eucharist, we encounter Jesus in many ways and through many people; especially through the Sacraments and the Proclamation of your Good News. We also pray that our Parishes form and equip us to be disciples and guide us in living lives of mercy with and for each other. Risen Lord, guide us in our planning for the Rural North Central Deanery. We ask all this in your name, Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.

SR CHRISTIAN MOTHERS will recite prayers after 8:30 a.m.

Mass on Sunday, July 1st. Please plan to join us. Wear your pins!
