The freedom and flexibility to organise your digital signage network exactly how you want to.

Managing your own servers 24/7 is expensive, that’s why the standard

set up for 3M™ Network Edition software utilises servers hosted by 3M,

accessed via 3M’s secure web portal. But there are times when this isn’t

the preferred choice for customers. 3M offers three levels of customer-

hosted server capabilities that provide for greater flexibility over network

communications and independence of control when using 3M™ Network

Edition software.

Content Server Software:■ Provides the option of storing media content files within your

own firewall, or on any server you choose

■ Instead of uploading content files to the 3M server for

passing on to your networked players, with Content Server

all media files upload directly to your in-house server. Players

download content directly from your Content Server

■ Playlist instructions and admin files are still downloaded from

the 3M servers over the internet

Site Server Software:■ Optimises bandwidth for sites running multiple players by

providing a consolidated communications channel between

your 3M™ Network Edition server (whether 3M-hosted or

customer-hosted) and players within the site

■ Enables reduced bandwidth requirements at each site

because only the Site Server requires an internet connection.

Media files and playlist instructions are downloaded once to

the Site Server for local distribution to players.

■ Supports a variety of distribution methods, including:

FTP, HTTP, Satellite Multicasting and File Share

■ Allows for communications from players to Site Server

over LAN or WAN, eliminating the need for each player to

have internet access

Full Server Software:■ Installs on the customer’s own server hardware and
