IMPORTANT

My name is Francis Jonah. I believe all things are

possible. It is because of this belief that I have

achieved so much in life. This belief extends to all. I

believe every human being is equipped to succeed

in every circumstance, regardless of the

circumstance.

I know the only gap that exists between you and

what you need to achieve or overcome is

knowledge.

People are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

It is for this reason that I write short practical books

that are so simple, people begin to experience

immediate results as evidenced by the many

testimonies I receive on daily basis for my various

books.

INTRODUCTION

The thoughts of men determine how well they do or

how massively they fail in life. The same applies to

whatever endeavour they undertake. This is because

the foundation of every man is his thought life.

No man can rise above his thoughts. The bible

states it categorically by saying in Proverbs 23:7

that

“As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he”.

What separates great men from ordinary men,

champions from losers, achievers from

underachievers is the disparity in the quality of their

thoughts.

Thoughts become words or our confessions, words

inform our actions and become our reality. In effect,

our world is ruled by our thoughts since they

become our reality.

Everything you want and everyone you want to be

is eventually determined by your thoughts.

This book will teach and help you to upgrade your

thoughts and utilize the power of positive thinking

using scriptures in the Bible and real life scenarios.

This book will give you that mental shift you need

to transform your life because it speaks tried and

tested principles and it’s backed by the power of

God.

It is not by accident or pure coincidence that you

chose to read this book. I think it is a combination

of destiny and the will of God for your life.

Read it and become the champion you are meant to

be.

CHAPTER ONE

THOUGHTS BECOME THINGS

Thoughts become things. Thoughts become reality.

I cannot emphasize these enough.

Your life as you see it now is a collection of all your

thoughts. It is that simple. Thoughts are the creative

house for every reality in our lives.

Your approach and attitude to everything

determines whether you become a failure or a

success.

Your thoughts about money are what have

determined your money situation, your thoughts

about marriage are what have also determined your

marriage situation. The list can go on.

The mind

“It all begins and ends in your mind. What you give

power to, has power over you, if you allow it.” Leon

Brown

The mind is the most powerful tool God himself has

given you to live from one level of glory to another.

The mind is the seat of your soul. It is the driver of

everything soul-ish and for that matter your whole

life.

The problem with most people is that they give their

minds no work to do. Instead they fill it with

negative thoughts expecting to see something good.

Input has always been equal to output. Success is

intentional.

The state of your mind determines the quality of

your thoughts. Whatever situation you are in now,

whether good or bad has been created by thoughts

that you have had in the past. The thoughts you

have presently will determine what your future will

look like.

The amazing thing is that your thoughts are a

creation of your mind. This means that you your life

is effectively controlled by your mind.

If you unleash the power of your mind in creating

good and productive thoughts, nothing or nobody

can stop you. You become a force of nature and a

force to be reckoned with.

This is because you have unleashed the root of the

creative process that made this world and all that

you see in it – the power of positive and productive

thoughts.

As a man thinketh.

You are what you think. This simple scripture in the

Bible can be found in Proverbs 23:7 which says

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he (NKJV).

The verse above proves for certain that a man

cannot rise above his thinking. You are who you

think you are. You can do what you think you can

and become who you think you can become.

If you think you can, you are right. And if per

adventure, you think you can’t, you are also right.

Such a wonderful truth. That is the power of the

thoughts of any man.

Psychologists have distilled this truth into two laws

that basically explain the powerful truth in Proverbs

23:7. These laws are namely, The Law of Attraction

and The Law of Sowing and Reaping

The Law of Attraction states that “you attract into

your life whatever you think about” This means that

your dominant thoughts become your realities.

This implies that if you continuously think about a

lot of negative things – sorrow, grief, unbelief and

the like, those become the dominant themes of your

life.

The opposite is equally true. If you continuously

think about positive thoughts, your life becomes

filled with positive circumstances.

The Law of Sowing and Reaping says that you reap

what you sow. This law is very true and more often

than not we have seen it take effect in our lives

more than once. It is highly improbable for a farmer

to sow a seed of an apple and harvest carrots

instead. This means that what you put into your life

(thoughts) become your reality.

Ever heard of Garbage In, Garbage Out (GIGO)?

That pretty much typifies this law.

It is for this reason why the Bible tells us in

Proverbs 4:23 to guard our heart with all diligence

for out of it flows the issues of life.

The mind is the route to the heart and thus it must

rise up to its expectations of guarding what we will

believe or for our philosophies out of.

The woman with the issue of blood

The power of positive thinking affects every facet of

our life as Christians even including our faith and

faith is very important in our walk with God.

Luke 8:43-48 – “And a woman was there who had

been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no

one could heal her. 44 She came up behind him

and touched the edge of his cloak, and

immediately her bleeding stopped.

As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost

crushed him. 43 And a woman was there who had

been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no

one could heal her.44 She came up behind him

and touched the edge of his cloak, and

immediately her bleeding stopped.

45 "Who touched me?" Jesus asked. When they

all denied it, Peter said, "Master, the people are

crowding and pressing against you." 46 But Jesus

said, "Someone touched me; I know that power

has gone out from me."

47 Then the woman, seeing that she could not go

unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In

the presence of all the people, she told why she had

touched him and how she had been instantly

healed. 48 Then he said to her, "Daughter, your

faith has healed you. Go in peace." (NIV)

The above verses chronicle the life of the miracle of

a woman who had been bleeding for twelve years.

This woman experienced a miracle when she

touched Jesus.

Jesus commended her for her faith but the truth is

her thinking played a major role in making sure she

received her healing. Chances could be that she was

not the only person wanting Jesus to pray with her.

Other sick people wanted Jesus to pray for them

too. Some were waiting for him to come to them so

he prays for them. I personally believe that the bible

mentions this woman specifically not only because

of her faith but because of the quality of her

thoughts.

This woman believed that she would not only

received her healing if Jesus prayed for her. She

also believed that if she even touched his garments,

she would be healed.

Look at that level of thinking. If I touch him, I will

be healed. That thinking produced an effective faith

that translated into her healing.

The quality of her thoughts saved her.

Mind Surgery

Our thoughts are so powerful that, they can be

considered as sin.

Matt 5:28 - But I tell you that anyone who looks at

a woman lustfully has already committed adultery

with her in his heart. (NIV)

Now as said in the earlier texts, what Jesus was

subtly trying to tell us that if we think of a woman

lustfully, we have actually committed sexual acts

with her. This literally means that if we think action,

we have actually achieved implementation and

accomplishment. WOW!

What this presupposes is that if we think of solving

a problem, we have already solved. If you think of

building a house, you have already built it. Truly,

we will eventually come up with the answer.

Why we cannot begin to operate at this level is a

wonder.

We would discuss the application of this in

CHAPTER 4 where we explore how to create and

fill our world with the things that we desire using

the power of positive thinking.

CHAPTER TWO

RENEWING YOUR MIND

I have heard of prisoners who feel freer than men

who are walking around freely. Many free men are

actually in more bondage than people who have

been incarcerated.

The difference between the two classes of people is

the states of their minds. Many people have been

imprisoned in their minds and thus cannot make

anything happen for themselves.

A free mind is a productive and creative mind. God

expects us to have that kind of mind. Daily, our

mind is inundated with unproductive and

discouraging thoughts that is bound to destroy us.

Thus, God expects us to constantly renew our mind.

Romans 12:2 - Do not conform any longer to the

pattern of this world, but be transformed by the

renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to

test and approve what God's will is — his good,

pleasing and perfect will. (NIV)

The verse above tells us that the only way you can

test and approve God’s good, pleasing and perfect

will is when you renew our mind. The way you

approach God is how God approaches you. If you

approach God with a double mind, you will hardly

receive anything from him.

The bible tells us in Hebrews 11:6 that “without

faith it is impossible to please God, because

anyone who comes to him must believe that he

exists and that he rewards those who earnestly

seek him”. (NIV)

This verse further buttresses the point that we must

approach God with the right mindset and not be

double-minded in our dealings with him. Our

mindset largely determines the quality of our faith.

James 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in

all his ways.

For stability in life, do well to be settled in your

mind about what you want, believe and where you

are going in life.

Wrong perceptions of believers

Many believers have a problem. This problem is a

problem of mindset. The Bible says that the cattle

on a thousand hills belong to God and that God has

blessed us with all spiritual blessings. Despite these

truths many believers as spiritual as they are still

live in lack because they have the wrong mindset

and wrong approach to God.

Some Christians believe that being poor is the best

way to serve the lord. This is because they have

read and interpreted wrongly scriptures like in

Matthew 19:24.

“Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go

through the eye of a needle than for a rich man

to enter the kingdom of God." (NIV)

It is never the will of God for us to be poor. How do

I know? It is because the Bible tells me so. It is

replete with scriptures that tells me the plan of God

for me and the mind of God concerning my

finances.

Philipians 4:19 – “And my God will meet all your

needs according to his glorious riches in Christ

Jesus. (NIV)

This scriptures tells us that God will supply all our

needs according to his riches. The Bible again says

in Psalm 23:1 that the lord is our shepherd so we

shall not want.

If God will meet your needs and wants, then there is

no way you can be poor. Prosperity through Christ

Jesus is yours. Receive it and respond to it in Jesus

Name.

Your thoughts can waste the blessing of God

God has blessed all Christians yet the blessings

majority of Christians do not live the life that God

expects them to be. This is because they have

unconsciously been wasting the blessings of God

due to their unproductive mindsets. See it clearly

wriiten:

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of

our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with

all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in

Christ:

You are blessed and everything is possible for you.

You just have to think and believe so because God

has said so. Once you believe that, you will begin to

do what blessed people do.

You have been blessed. Change your mindset and

put that blessing to work. Again, everything is

possible to you.

Philipians 4:13 – I can do everything through

him who gives me strength (NIV)

How Satan fights you – Through Your mind.

The mind is a battlefield. It is the first point of

attack by Satan because he knows if he is able to

make you have the wrong mindset about things, he

has invariably defeated you.

The Bible makes us understand that the gifts of God

are irrevocable.

Romans 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God

are without repentance.

This means that God blesses us without taking back

our blessing. Most Christians have the mindset that

when they sin, God will intentionally bring a

punishment on them to humble them.

So most of them end up giving up since they believe

that God is the source of their afflictions. However,

that is a wrong mindset the devil has led many

Christians to carry.

If you believe God is your enemy, you will always

lose in life. If you know it is the devil, you will fight

and defeat him because he is already defeated.

Mind surgery

In fact, most times, you are the cause of your own

problems but the devil will prevent you from taking

responsibility so you can end up blaming it on God.

He does that because he knows you are going to be

depressed when you believe that God is the one

putting you through all your problems. How can

you liberate yourself then since you know it’s a

fruitless battle to fight God?

The bible says in James 1:17 that “every good

and perfect gift is from above, coming down

from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does

not change like shifting shadows”.(NIV)

This just means that God doesn’t give bad and

harmful gifts to his children. Every gift that God

gives to us is perfect and He is never going to

change his faithfulness.

God wants the best for us and He will never lead us

to our doom.

Our afflictions are as a result of our own actions and

inaction. The devil is also the other factor. They are

the real enemies not God. Deal with them and be

liberated.

CHAPTER THREE

CHANGE YOUR THOUGHTS, CHANGE

YOUR LIFE

Change comes from a renewed mind. Without our

minds being renewed, we will still experience the

failures of yesterday.

This is because the thinking that caused the failure

is still the same thinking now. Until we change our

thinking, we will not change our results.

We will repeat the same mistakes and expect that

mother luck or God will work some magic for us so

we can succeed. And if it doesn’t happen, we blame

God for not being faithful.

Here is the key, renew your mind.

Renowned Physicist Albert Einstein once said

“Insanity is doing the same things always and

expecting different results. Dearly beloved, life just

does not work that way.

If you want to see a change in your life, then the

change must first start in the quality of your

thinking.

Where the thoughts go, the body follows

Your thoughts control your body and even your

spirit. Your mind is basically composed of your

conscious and subconscious.

You do not have so much power over thoughts that

linger in your subconscious. It is more like the open

gates to your mind. Thoughts that enter through

your subconscious are not filtered.

However, God gave you a guard to help you

regulate thoughts that come into your mind. This

guard is your conscious mind. This filters thoughts

that get into it.

From here, you can control what you want to think

about. You have the power to do so. If negative

thoughts gets into your mind, start speaking of

positive things to counteract their effect.

Remember, in that particular instance speak

positive. Do not try to think your way out of

negative thoughts. Speak.

Changing your thoughts

The word of God is the primary tool to help us

change our thoughts and become who God wants us

to be.

James 1:23-24 – Anyone who listens to the word

but does not do what it says is like a man who

looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking

at himself, goes away and immediately forgets

what he looks like (NIV)

The word of God has the ability to transform all the

three facets of your being – soul, spirit and body.

Dearly beloved, give yourself to the study of the

word of God and imbibe what it says. Search the

scriptures to find God’s mind concerning you.

When you find that out and you allow it to renew

your mind, trust me when I say that your life will

simply not be the same again. You will never settle

for lesser than what God thinks of you.

Power of positive affirmations

What you say often is as a result of what you have

continuously thought about in your mind and vice

versa.

Matt 12:34 – Brood of vipers! How can you,

being evil, speak good things? For out of the

abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

(NKJV)

Jesus was telling the Pharisees that they are not

capable of speaking good things because their hearts

(minds) are filled with evil things. What you feed

your mind with becomes your confessions.

Likewise, your mind accepts what you confess.

Positive affirmation/confessions have a way of

programming your mind and your body to respond

to your decrees. The Bible tells us that the power of

life and death lies in the tongue and them that love it

will eat its fruits.

This simply means that we can change our thoughts

and our lives by confessing positively about our

lives and our situations.

Child of God, confess what the word of God says

about you now and see your life get transformed.

Transformation is in your tongue, unleash it.

Confess these now:

I AM THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD

I AM BLESSED

MY HANDS ARE BLESSED

I AM A BLESSING

I AM CAPABLE OF ALL THINGS

NO SITUATION I ENCOUNTER IS GREATER

THAN I AM

THE WORLD IS BLESSED TO HAVE ME IN IT

I AM GREAT

I AM A PROBLEM SOLVER

Confess these and many more as you begin to arise

and take your place on earth.

CHAPTER FOUR

PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF THE

POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING

I can’t emphasize enough how the power of positive

thinking can transform your life, your business and

everything around you.

With the right application of this power, you will

become unstoppable.

Solving problems with positive thoughts

God himself is a problem solver. He transformed an

earth that was void into the beautiful place he has

placed us now. It just stands to reason that if we

were created in his own image and likeness, then we

have creative powers and solution solving

capabilities too.

The bible says in Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the

light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be

hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it

under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand,

and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the

same way, let your light shine before men, that

they may see your good deeds and praise your

Father in heaven (NIV)

The verse above just tells us that we are supposed to

do good works so that they will praise our father in

heaven.

The power of asking “How” and “Why”

These words “how and why” have the power to

change your life if you use them effectively.

CONCLUSION

The powerful truths in this book are enough to take

you from a state of standstill to a pedestal of

greatness. Greatness is in you and you must let it

out

Your thoughts become things. Maximize the

potential of the mind God has given to you and you

will never be the same again.
