-3-Note: 1) If the turn allotted to SC- Arunthathiyar on preferential basis are not

available, the candidates from SC will be considered in the order.2) If qualified and suitable Women candidates in the turn allotted above are

SCALE OF PAY (REVISED): Assistant Professor (Stage 1): Rs.15600-39100 + Academic Grade Pay of Rs.6000/- Assistant Librarian (Stage 1): Rs.15600-39100 + Academic Grade Pay of Rs.6000/-

QUALIFICATIONS:1) ASSISTANT PROFESSOR:(i) Good academic record as defined by the University with at least 55% of marks

(or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) atthe Master’s Degree level in a relevant / concerned subject or an equivalent

degree from an accredited foreign University. A minimum OGPA of 2.25/4.00 or6.50/10.00 or its equivalent is essential. The candidates should possess thebasic degree of B.V.Sc. / B.V.Sc. & AH in the Veterinary and AnimalSciences Faculty posts.

(ii) For the candidates having Master’s degree, National Eligibility Test (NET)conducted by the ASRB, UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC shallremain compulsory along with one publication in NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi) rated refereed journal for recruitment to thepost of Assistant Professor and equivalent in the disciplines in which NET isconducted. Essentiality of NET can be waived off for the candidates holding the

Ph.D., Degree provided it has been done with course work as prescribed by theUGC Regulations 2009, and the candidate has atleast two full lengthpublications having a NAAS rating not less than 4, on the last day of submissionof application. Those candidates with Ph.D, degree without course work will notqualify for NET exemption. However, a time relaxation is given up to 31.07.2013for the publication of research papers for Assistant Professor post.

(iii) NET shall not be required for such Masters Programme in disciplines for whichNET is not conducted.

2) ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN:(i) Master’s Degree in Library Science / Information Science / DocumentationScience or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks (or anequivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and aconsistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of library.

(ii) Qualifying in the National Eligibility Test conducted for the purpose by the UGCor any other agency approved by the UGC.

(iii) However, candidates, who are, or have been awarded Ph.D. degree inaccordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and

Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree), Regulations 2009, shall be exemptedfrom the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET forrecruitment and appointment of Assistant Librarian.
