Poster Publishing OverviewStetson University’s Media Services can print posters up to 42 inches by 52 inches, in full color, using standard matte paper. Media Services maintains and operates this printer, purchased with grants from the T3 program, through the College of Arts and Sciences. This printer is a Hewlett Packard Designjet 800, capable of handling up to 42 inch paper, and prints near-photo quality images, using inkjet technology. We recommend PowerPoint, but various applications can print to the poster printer. Some applications (like Microsoft Publisher) do NOT print easily to the poster printer.

For the Undergraduate Scholarship and Performance Day (USAPD) posters, you may wish to modify one of the example posters (in PowerPoint) located at: http://www.stetson.edu/mediaservices/posters.php

If you wish to create your own poster from scratch, follow the instructions on the following pages.

4. Set up the page size for the poster. Go to “File/Page Setup” and a dialog box will appear.

5. Choose the size you need, up to a maximum of 51 inches by 41 inches, portrait or landscape. Even though the paper is 42 inches wide, you must account for the half-inch margin on each side.

6. Enter the information for your poster, add graphics, whatever. Make sure you only use STANDARD FONTS, like Arial, Times New Roman, etc. If you use fonts that we don’t have, the poster will look different when it prints!

7. Save the file as your name. Save it onto your network drive (G:) or onto a thumb drive, or CD. Make an appointment with us to print your poster at 386.822.7182. Be sure to allow 24 hours, to ensure there’s enough time to process the poster and allow for projects already scheduled to be printed.
