Overview In Australia visas are issued by the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP)

Some visas require State Government nomination (e.g. subclass 190, 489 and 187)

The Tasmanian Government Department of State Growth assesses applications for Skilled and Business state nominations – we DON’T issue visas How to apply for State Government nomination:Step 1 – apply for Tasmanian Government State Nomination Step 2 – if successful, apply to DIBP (state nomination does not guarantee a visa will be granted)

DisclaimerDIBP requirements change – information today is current but please check their website for changes – www.border.gov.au www.migration.tas.gov.au
