Post-doctoral Position In Logistics and Supply Chain Management Location: Centre de Gestion Scientifique, MINES ParisTech, Paris, France Contract: 12 to 18 months Post-doctoral Researcher Keywords: Physical Internet, Freight Transport, co-modality, Optimisation, Simulation Objective and Context: A post-doctoral position is proposed in the context of research projects in France and Europe. The main objective is to design innovative logistic services for logistic flows from sources to customers located in an urban area, especially with consideration of multi-modal transport (ex. rail-road) for the sake of efficiency and sustainable transport. The projects will investigate the Physical Internet concept as one of the solutions in favour of building larger shipments and ease the switch to multi-modal transport. The postdoctoral researcher will mainly work within the team of logistics management at the Centre of management Science (CGS - Centre de Gestion Scientifique) at MINES ParisTech, a high-level engineer school (Grande école). He/She will work on research projects in collaboration with other teams - major universities and research institutes as well as industrial partners, activities related to the Chair Physical Internet. High level scientific publications are also sought during the post-doc period. Skills and Experience: The applicants should have PhD degree. He/She should have solid knowledge of logistics and supply chain management (ideally of freight transport), and of optimisation or simulation approaches. Knowledge in collaborative game theory and mechanism design theory will be more than welcome. It is a plus if he/she has experience with the following software: Mathematica, Anylogic, ILOG CPLEX. Start time: No later than October 2017 or sooner. About the employer: MINES ParisTech – PSL Research University is a leading engineering “grande école”(www.mines-paristech.fr) and a member of PSL Research University (www.univ-psl.fr). For over twenty years, the CGS (Centre for Management Science) has built up the efforts on the area of production systems, and gradually expanded to the global Supply Chain Management and sustainable logistics. More recently, the research work based on the Physical Internet concept has gained extensive international academic recognition and a strong interest from the industry. As one of the objectives of the position, the successful candidate will work on research topics connecting Supply Chain Management and other managerial and organisational studies, which is also an important research body of the CGS. The research approach will question and challenge classical organisations. This axis is therefore an important part of research. The applicants should send by e-mail a single PDF file to [email protected]. The file should include: a cover letter describing background and motivation, a CV, and 3 most relevant publications. Please contact us at the mail above for any further information or question.
