Position Yourself as an Expert
in Your OWN Field
Have you heard before how important it is for you to
stand out from other people in your field?
It IS important for you to stand out, yes, absolutely.
But the best, most effective, and easiest way of
doing that is not what you think!It’s NOT about competing with the other people who have studied the same
kinds of skills that you have. In fact, going that route it is virtually
impossible to stand out because there will always be people who are
“better” than you— with more experience, better results, higher-level
endorsements and so on. (There will also be people “worse” than you, too,
with less experience, not as good results, and so on—but typically that’s not
where you focus, is it?)
Instead, position yourself as an expert in your OWN field based on what is
unique and particular to about you. While there are other people who have
studied what you have studied, no one else has lived your life, or has your
unique combination of gifts, talents, skills and experience.
In the step-by-step template that follows, you will be guided to fill in
information and insights regarding various aspects of your experience. Do
not think too much! Just fill in the blanks.
Each part leads seamlessly into the next, and when you complete thetemplate, you will have a marketing message that you can use to talk about
what you do, to put on your business cards, promotional material, and
website.

Appreciating Your Gifts and Talents
What are you naturally good at, what do you do without effort that other
people marvel at? It’s easy to overlook and otherwise take for granted what
comes easily to you. Yet what you now experience as your gifts and talentsare skills you have been developing for life times during your Soul’s
Journey. You should value them highly, bring them forward into your life,
and charge for them!
Pay special attention to those aspects that were either not valued, or not
acknowledged and appreciate within your family, culture, your school
environment, and your greater community. These include intuitive,
psychic, and creative gifts, as well as nurturing, and relationship oriented
talents, such as listening and empathy.

Appreciating Your Life Experience
What you have learned during your life’s journey is highly valuable in terms
of what it enables you to contribute to others through the vehicle of your
business. Being vulnerable and transparent about the stumbling blocks
you’ve fallen over, and the ways you’ve made your way through challenging
situations, humanize you, and make you accessible to your prospective
clients and customers. The “authority of experience” – your own life
experience that is, enables you to position yourself easily and readily as an
expert in your OWN field. That is, a field that is defined by a certain kind of
life transformation, not by a particular kind of schooling or skill set.

represents what makes you different. Make sure to include your gifts and
talents, what you have developed further into skills, and the wealth and
wisdom of your own life experience.
