Position overviewThe position of Manager E-Learning Support and Information Management is a key role at Batchelor Institute.
This role will be accountable for developing and implementing information management systems, learning
management systems and other technological infrastructure that helps support the teaching, learning and
research and helps to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of administrative processes.

technological solutions that help to enable world class teaching, learning and research, as well as improving the
effectiveness and efficiency of administrative processes.

ReportingThe position will report to the Senior Project Officer, Executive Services. The position does not have any direct reports or financial delegation.
Accountabilities1. Information Management
Devise, articulate and recommend a consolidated information management strategy for Batchelor
Institute that is consistent with the 2020-2022 strategic plan.
Ensure that the proposed information management system meets and where possible exceeds the
information management requirements of the HE Standards and RTO standards.
Identification of budget a resourcing issues related to the implementation of a consolidated information
management system.
Scoping of a project plan that leads to implementation of a consolidated information management
system.
Management of the consolidated information system management system project plan.
Regular reporting of progress to the Executive Leadership Team.
Collaboratively develops reports that can be derived from the information management system for day to
day management of Institute operations and/or for strategic decision-making.
Review effectiveness of any implemented systems and report appropriately
2. Learning Management Software (LMS) Devise, articulate and recommend an LMS strategy for Batchelor Institute that is consistent with the
2020-2022 strategic plan and is informed by pedogeological and andrological principles.
Ensure that the proposed LMS meets and where possible exceeds the requirements of the HE
standards and RTO standards.
Identification of budget a resourcing issues related to the implementation of LMS.
Scoping of a project plan that leads to implementation of LMS.
Management of the LMS project plan.
Regular reporting of progress to the Executive Leadership Team.
Identify staff training needs related to LMS and develop training solutions.
Work collaboratively with marketing to ensure that the presentation of the LMS is consistent with the
Institute brand.
Review effectiveness of implemented solution and report appropriately.
3. Website RedevelopmentWork collaboratively with marketing to redevelop the Institute website.
Ensure integration of the website with the technological infrastructure of the Institute (e.g., LMS,
Information Management).
Ensure that the website meets and where possible exceeds the requirements of the HE standards and
RTO standards.
Ensure that website works well as both marketing and a functional tool
Search Engine Optimisation
4. Digital MarketingWork collaboratively with marketing to develop social media strategy
Assist when required with social media updates
Develop reports for Institute management based on social media analytics
Membership of the Marketing Communications and Information Management Committee
Essential Skills
1. Formal qualification in either IT, Project Management, or Communication and/or extensive experience in
working with educational and support technologies
2. A clear understanding of the interface between technology and education in the 21st Century
3. Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects in a complex environment
4. Good understanding of Search Engine Optimisation
5. Good understanding of social media marketing and analytics
6. High levels of IT literacy
7. Well-developed communication skills
8. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
9. Time management skills
10. Must hold a current working with children clearance (ochre card) and police check
11. Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and practices, and ability to comply with Institute
WHS Policies and Procedures.
Desirable
1. Experience working in an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Environment
2. Experience working in a Tertiary Education Provider
