LogosDescription: These are the Logos I created to promote my
own personal Business.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I spent more time on
this project than another one in the past. I was really
passionately devoted to building out theses logos to be
the best that they can be. I used illustrator to design these
logos. I also spent several hours sketching and talking
with peers about what they would like to see in my logos. The pen tool and object unifying tool were my most
heavily used.
Message: The message is simple, Creative work for creative
people. I really tried to convey that using the paintbrush.
Audience: Creative business owning millennials.
Top Thing Learned: How to unify objects, How to think in
shapes. How to build out what I see in my mind.
Three Color Scheme and Color Names: Monochromatic
Teal. Triadic Red, Blue, Yellow. Split complementary

that I liked. Than I did the homework assignment to help
me get a feel for what i wanted to do and learn the skills i
needed. I originally did a different design. But later settled
on the one that i have. I chose an image off of unsplash.
com. I felt like it went well with my theme. I than learned
how to drop the opacity on teh square behind the text, itwas difficult.
Message: Simple Creation.
Audience: Milenial Creatives. Aspiring Entrepreneurs.
Top Thing Learned: Being able to understand simple coding
will be helpful in the future.

Business CardsDescription: Joshua Dunford Media Company Brand Identity
Process: I started sketching out different logos and
looking for a simplistic design. Minimalism is hard to
achieve. How can I say all I want to say in as few words
as it requires. After a few sketches I built a few different
logos in illustrator and picked a color scheme. This is
what I ended up with. I wanted my card to be memorable
and simple. I feel like simplicity communicates my style andthats what I want. I used indesign to compile the various
parts and ended up with what you see above.
Message: Simple Creation.
Audience: Milenial Creatives. Aspiring Entrepreneurs.
Top Thing Learned: Less is more. Simplicity and a
minimalistic look is hard to achieve.
Color scheme and color names: Complementary: Brick and

BrochureDescription: This project was made to showcase what my
company is able to do for our customers.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I used illustrator to
create the logo and found my images on unsplash.com,
a royalty free, creative commons platform of images. At
first i struggled with layout and achieving what i wanted.
However after a few different layouts, i decided on using
the mountains from my logo to tie the whole designtogether. All in all it was an easy project.
Message: The message is, Simple creation.
Audience: My audience that I was trying to reach was
creative Millennials and entrepreneurs.
Top Thing Learned: Placement of images is important within
the design in order to achieve flow.

MontageDescription: My photo montage inspiration came from watching
the Lord of the Rings, something I do often, and what a spiritual
undertone that film has. This Gandalf Quote for me speaks volumes,
and I wanted to share that with others.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills, Steps taken while designing): I
used photoshop for this image. My process was really methodical,
I simply started building one layer at a time, First the image of the
forest. Than I blended it with the misty overlay. Than I tried to make
Gandalf's face appear as part of the mist. Than the text. In generalit was pretty simple, the tutorials on the homework as well as in
class instruction made feathering and using the blend tools very
simple.
Message: Home is Behind you, The world is ahead. Something very
applicable on a spiritual level to people my age. We are moving out
from our comfort zones, and entering into a world of endless
potential. Don't be afraid, Take the first step.
Audience: My audience is anybody looking to be inspired to take
big steps in their lives, this most of the time is young people, in
our 20's and 30's we make some of our biggest life decisions. This
applies to making big decisions.
Top Thing Learned: Photoshop is really fun once you get past the
learning curve. I also learned that masking is much simpler than i
thought originally.
Filter / Colorization used and where it was applied: The Coloring I
did was mostly on the image of the forest. As seen in the original
image below, the colors were much lower contrast and more
natural, I wanted this image to have a more, Lord of the Rings
look, Higher Contrast, Stronger Hues, and Values and Generally
more pronounced. The Curves tool and Vibrance were used to
Achieve this look. The Image of Gandalf has a much higher contrast
in the original image. I wanted him to blend with the misty overlay
I used on this image and make it feel as if he was part of the
surroundings, quietly giving you this message. It is after all his
quote.
Color scheme and color names: Triadic - Orange and GreenI chosenot to use the purple because I decided it would be distracting
and to "Out of this world" for a very in the world message.

Event Ad1. Description:
I wanted my flyer to be simple and have as little text as
possible. It was important to me that the focus was on the
image. I believe I achieved that.
2. Process:
The process for this event flyer was pretty straightforward, when I found this image in the national
geographic my original idea was basically the same as
how it turned out. The opaque circle came afterwards but
I felt like it gave the text a more logical place to be and
was good balance and asymmetry from the head of the
monkey. I really liked this image and thought it carried a
pretty powerful message itself, I didn't want to distract
from that.
3. Message
The message for this event flyer was to communicate the
importance of the individual monkey. I wanted the focus
to be on them and not on the even so much or the forest,
but the monkey.
4. Audience
My audience is anybody that runs marathons. They are a
very specific niche in the workout community.
5. Top things Learned:
This was the first project I did in color so I learned how
to choose colors that worked well with the image and
were not distracting from the message. I feel like most
of the meaning of this flyer comes from the monkey. The
text is just details.

ImagingDescription: If it aint broke dont fix it, is a simple message, I
tried to build a simple design.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): The programs I used for
this project was photoshop. I had a simple message and
tried to build a simple design. I believe that these colors
work well with my image. I hope that my message is clear
and my design has good flow. My original design was
cluttered and pushed into one corner. This new design hasmuch better flow.
Message: The message is simple. if it aint broke, dont fix
it. it works well with the image of the car. because often
times we throw things away because they are old. Not
broken. Be resourceful, be thrifty.
Audience: My audience is younger people, the Triadic color
scheme appeals to younger viewers.
Top Thing Learned: I learned how counter intuitive
photoshop was, I also learned how to use layers to my
advantage.

FlierDescription: This is my flyer marketing to Young recent
graduates from college looking to expand their
knowledge and build their portfolio. I tried to make it
look young and fun, something catchy to their eye.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): My process started of
course with the sketches. I had built this idea around
circles and I tried to build out that idea. It started well, but
eventually I got stumped and changed to this idea. I hada previous knowledge from illustrator and a few design
principles and I tried to apply these things in my design.
I wanted to do something that was a little different and
more modern and Young. I feel like so many fliers are
boring and scenery like, rather than something that
actually catches your eye. I hope that this design is able to
capture attention.
Message: The message of this flyer is to entice people to
attend the Graduate Leadership Conference.
Audience: The audience is young graduates or almost
graduated students looking for work.
Top Thing Learned: I learned not to stretch my images.
I learned how to pick fonts that go well together. Ilearned how to organize things by importance.
