R i j n w a t e r v a l v a n S c h a f f h a u s e nDie älteste bekannte Darstellung des Rheinfalls, ein Holzschnitt, stammt aus dem Jahr 1544. Die Geschichte dieses
fantastischen Wasserfalls allerdings reicht mindestens 14.000 Jahre zurück! Der Rheinfall von Schaffhausen ist Europas
größter Wasserfall (eigentlich sind es sogar drei), liegt bei Neuhausen im Osten der Schweiz und präsentiert ein spe-
ktakuläres Schauspiel des Wassers, das mit einer Geschwindigkeit von 700 Kubikmeter pro Sekunde über eine Breite von
150 Metern und eine Höhe von 25 Metern fällt. Um dieses beeindruckende Naturdenkmal richtig zu erleben, empfiehlt
sich unbedingt eine Bootstour zu einer mitten im Wasserfall gelegenen Felsenpartie. Der Ort Neuhausen bietet eine große
Vielfalt an Shoppingmöglichkeiten, Restaurants und Hotels. Auch für eine entspannte Wanderung ist die Umgebung des
Wasserfalls einfach ideal. Das nahe gelegene mittelalterliche Schloss Laufen ist ebenfalls einen Besuch wert.
