What is poison oak

Poison oak is a plant that release an oil, urushiol, when the leaf or other plant parts are bruised,

damaged, or burned

What Poison Oak Looks Like: Each leaf has 3 small leaflets

It most often grows as a shrub

It may have yellow-white berries

Poison Oak Prevention Avoid direct contact

Avoid Inhaling smoke from burning plants

Avoid touching contaminated objects

Pour mild solvent - rubbing alcohol over exposed area

Poison Oak Symptoms

Redness

Itching

Swelling

Blisters

Treatment

Do not scratch, as scratching can cause an infection

Immediately rinse your skin with lukewarm, soapy water

Wash your clothing.

Wash everything that may have the oil on its surface

Leave blisters alone
