The User Management Tool enables facilities and corporations to manage their PointRight users

This tool allows you to:• Create a new User• Search for a User • Edit a User’s information• Reset a User’s password • Deactivate a User

Overview: HIPAA Regulations & Private Health Information

•PointRight adheres to HIPAA regulations regarding access to Private Health Information (PHI)

•All users that access PointRight must have their own unique login account

Important note: HIPAA established enforceable privacy and security regulations which govern the use and disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI).  Each individual user of PointRight’s systems must have their own personal login account, which should never be shared with another user.  Please keep in mind that Protected Health Information should be accessed by parties who need this disclosed PHI to fulfill their job duties, and will act in full compliance with the HIPAA regulations.

Step Two: Open the User Management Tool1. Roll the mouse over the Admin tab.

The Admin drop-down menu appears.

2. In the Admin drop-down menu, click on the User Admin tab.

Create a New User 1. Click the Create New User button. The “Create New User” page opens.

Create a New User: User Information Tab

2. Select the User Information tab. 

a. Type the new user’s  information into each field.

b. Type a unique User Name and Password for the new user.

c. Retype the password in the“Set Confirm Password” field.

3. Complete the remaining User Information fields.

4. Click the User Access tab at the top of the page to continue.

4. Click the checkbox next to a facility name to give the new user access to that facility.  

5. When you’ve completed assigning the user access, click the User Roles tab at the top of the page to continue.

Create a New User: User Roles tab6. Click the checkbox next to each role you want to assign to the new user.

7. Click the Save User button to save the user information.

8. Click the Close button in the top right hand corner when you are finished.

Search for a User1. Type in the User Name of the user you want to search for.

-or-Type in the First or Last Name of the user you want to search for.

2. Click the Search button.

Edit a User’s Information1. Under the Edit User column, click the pencil icon next to the user you want

to edit.

2. Click the appropriate tab to edit the user’s information, access, or role.

3. Edit the user information.

4. After you have completed editing, click the Save Userbutton to save the updated information.

5. Click the Close button in the top right hand corner when you are finished.

Reset a User’s Password1. Under the Edit User column, click the pencil icon next to the user whose

password you want to reset.

Deactivate a User

1. To deactivate a user, click on the Status drop down box and select InActive.

2. Click on the Save Userbutton to save the updated information.

3. Click the Close button in the top right hand corner when you have finished.
