Our Historic BuildingBuilt in 1893 as a passenger station for the Wilmington and Northern Railroad, the building that houses Pocopson Veterinary Station was con-verted to a US Post Office in 1947, sold at auction in the 1970s and refurbished as a veterinary practice in 1991. Many original fixtures and features have been preserved, and the property is listed in the Chester County Register of Historic Places.

About Our VeterinariansAmy L. Kidd, VMD, has been in small animal practice since graduating from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Dr. Kidd sets superior standards for Pocopson Veterinary Station so that patients benefit from the latest in preventive medicine as well as the availability of high-tech medical and surgical procedures. She has a special interest in critical care and has dedicated countless hours to helping sick and injured animals at the Chester County SPCA and other rescue organizations.

Hilary Fordyce, VMD, attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine from which she graduated in 1996. After a period in private practice, she returned to Penn Vet to complete an internship in small animal medicine and surgery, further surgical training and a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship in the PennHIP program, which focuses on canine hip dysplasia. After working as an emergency veterinarian, Dr. Fordyce now adds her broad range of skills and experience to Pocopson Veterinary Station.

The Support StaffA highly experienced team of licensed veterinary technicians, hospital administrators and practice management personnel bring passion for the profession to their support roles at Pocopson Veterinary Station. Every staff member is also a pet owner with genuine sensitivity to your concerns as well as the needs of your pet.

In Case of EmergencyDuring Clinic Hours: If you have a pet emergency during our regular office hours, transport your pet to our location right away. Please alert us with a phone call, if possible, so that we can prepare for your arrival.

After Clinic Hours: If you have a pet emergency outside of our regular hours, you and your pet will be referred to either of the following state-of-the-art 24/7 emergency clinics nearby. Both are staffed by board-certified specialists who will stay in close communication with us about your pet’s condition.
