“Partnering to Win” is the
theme this year and it was evi-
dent at Eaton’s Distributor
Meeting recently held in Orlan-
do, Florida. Over 1000 Distrib-
utors and customers from over
40 countries worldwide partici-
pated in general sessions and
then smaller technical learning
“break-outs” during the 3 day
event. Product managers from
Eaton’s PMC groups conducted
training classes introducing
new technology and products as
well as reviewing core product
lines. The event was fast paced
with presentations every hour
of the day. Innovations in
products providing greater
power in a smaller package
were introduced with the re-
leases of the new 620 pump
series and the BAF7 motor.
New technology in controls to
manage this increased power
was also presented in the
breakout sessions.
A big thank you goes out to the
folks at Eaton for putting on a
great event. We enjoyed spend-
ing time with our customers
who were able to make the trip
as well as with Eaton’s leader-
ship, product management and
sales teams. “Partnering to
Win” is key in todays ever
changing fast paced world. It is
very important that we as dis-
tributors make all the connec-
tions with our manufacturers
and customers to bring home a
winning solution for all.

Eaton, the world’s most recognized manufacturer
of fluid power components, guarantees your cus-
tomer the best valve package anywhere, when they
trade-up to Vickers™ SM4 servo valves. They’ve
expanded a proven program to make it even easier
for you to upgrade your customers to Vickers
servo valves.
NOBODY DOES IT BETTER WITH FEATURES THAT
INCLUDE:
• The industry’s only jeweled feedback ball receiver eliminates “ball glitch” – a “no control” region on competing models. • Jeweled orifices on all models provide extremely long life.
• Their flapper nozzle design provides fast, stable, response at a wide range of operating pressures. • A six (6) bolt torque motor tie down system that keeps the torque motor “put”, in sawmill and other high “G” force applications. • The O-ring sealed floating sleeve eliminates spool binding, caused by sleeve distortion during valve bolt down and at high pressure. • Viton™ O-rings are standard on all models – not at a premium price, like other manufacturers. • A single 35 micron pilot filter on all models elimi-nates “null drift”, caused by uneven filter degradation on competing dual filter models. • The industry’s ONLY 3-year warranty on new and repaired valves. • Rated flows from 1 to 40 GPM • Maximum Pressure to 5000 psi
Just send in a qualify-
ing competitor’s servo
valve.
By trading up and send-ing in a competitor’s servo valve, an additional 25% discount will be issued upon receipt of the competitor’s valve at the Jackson, Michigan Servo Valve Plant. Download Document No. V-VLPO-MR003-E availa-ble on Eaton’s web site for the complete details.

Eaton 620 Piston Pump
Eaton’s 620 Pump
“Extreme power and
performance in a small
and light weight package.”
620 Pump Spotlight
Eaton’s new 620 Series piston pump signifies a step change in the
generation of hydraulic power. Utilizing the latest developments in
hydraulic pump technology, the 620 is specifically designed for
moderate flow, high pressure applications. It is currently available in
98cc (6.0 in3) displacement with future plans to include the devel-
opment of 65cc, 74cc and 120cc displacements in the family. With a
wide range of pump controls, the 620 is rated for 280 bar and 2,200
rpm making it the ideal pump for an array of different mobile and
stationary applications. At only 11.4 inches (289mm) in length and
capable of generating over 134 horsepower (100kW), the 98cc 620
provides more power in a smaller, compact package. This increased
power generation allows equipment manufacturers to provide more
hydraulic power with a
smaller displacement pump.
Also, as the shortest pump in
it’s class, the 98cc is able to
fit where other pumps can-
not.

August, 2012 Jason Pedersen –
Eaton Corp. visits with HSC
Jason Pedersen, Global Product Manag-
er, for Vane and Gear Products toured
HSC and visited with customers to re-
view the vane product market in our re-
gion. The “Voice of the Customer” is an
important component in partnering to
win in today's market place. During these
customer visits, we learned that deliver-
ing quality product in a quicker than ever
manner is key to locking down the busi-
ness.
Today, HSC and Eaton are looking into
innovative ways to accomplish this by
working on a vane pump build program.
“We hope to soon be able to deliver
components from our location in Sunrise
with a 1-2 day delivery on most of the
most popular configurations.”
Thank you to Bob Tripp and Jason
Pedersen for the efforts on this project.
“Partnering to Win”
of a displacement. Q-Amp steering units have
built in variable orifices that provide flow direct-
ly to the cylinder without going through the
gerotor (Meter) section. The orifices do not open
until after the gerotor begins to rotate and then
gradually open until the desired flow is achieved
which is proportional to the flow going through
Eaton’s Charlynn steering division developed a
system to solve a critical problem when power
steering is lost on a vehicle. The answer is Q-AMP.
How it works: Below is a conventional steering
valve. All the oil must flow through the metering
valve to get oil to the cylinder. The major issue is
this valve cannot be turned by hand if it is too large
the gerotor A typical Q-Amp unit has a ratio of 1.6 :1
which means the flow of the cylinder is 1.6 times the
flow going through the gerotor when turning the
steering wheel at medium to fast speeds. When pump
flow is lost the smaller gerotor section takes over and
manual steering is possible.
