5513 Combo Glo Cable Lock
YOUR NEW LOCK IS PRESET TO OPEN AT 0-0-0-5
STEP 1
Open the lock by aligning the preset combination number to the guide point and pull out the lock post.
STEP 2
Turn the reset collar clockwise until it comes to a stop.
STEP 3
Select your new combination by rotating the dials (for example: 1234). Be sure to write it down and keep it in a safe place.
STEP 4
Turn the reset collar counter-clockwise until it comes to a complete stop back at its original position.
STEP 5
Reinsert the locking post into the lock. The lock is now ready for normal use with your personal combination.
Repeat these steps any time you wish to change your combination.

HOW TO LOCK UP YOUR BIKE
• Domarkyourbikeandtakeaphotoofitforfutureidentification.Thenfor free or a minimal fee, register or license your bike at the local law-enforcementoffice.
• Dolockyourbiketosomethingsolidinavisibleplace.Don’tlockyourbikethrough a chain-link fence – anyone with a set of wire cutters can easily snipthefenceandstealyourbike.Don’tlockyourbiketowoodenrailings–thievescanbreakthem.
• Douseundergroundparkinglotswithamplevideosurveillancecameras–cameras are excellent deterrents.
• Dolockyourbikenexttootherbikeswherepossible.• Dokeepanextrakeytoyourlockinasafeplace.Ifyoursisacombination
lock, keep the number in a secure place.
• Dorememberthatanounceofprotectionisworthapoundofcure.Thefewmomentsistakeseachtotimetolockupyourbikewillsaveyouthetimeand money it would take to replace your bike.
• Don’tparkyourbikeindarkalleys.Doselecthighlyvisiblelocationssuchasbusystreetsorinfrontofstores.Thievesarelesslikelytobotherwithyourbikeifit’slockedoutintheopen.
• Don’tlockyourbikeinthesamespoteachday.Thieves“case”behaviourpatternsandthriveonpredictability.Dolockyourbikeinadifferentlocationeach day.
• Don’tletyourlockrust.Afrozenlockissimplydeadweight.UseaperiodicsquirtofWD-40tokeepyourlockinasgoodworkingorderasyourbike.
One-Lock Method• Removethefrontwheelofyourbike(Pic.C,D)ormakesureyourlock
encircles the rim, not the spokes, of the wheel, as well as the bike frame (Pic. B).
• Lockyourbiketoafixedobjectthatcannotbeeasilybroken,cutorremoved.Somethievesgosofarastoremoveboltsfromsignposts.Onceyou’velockedyourbikearoundaseeminglysecurepole,thethiefsimplylifts the post out of the ground and slips off the lock.
• Positionthekeyentrysoitfacestheground.• Positionyourlockashighabovethegroundaspossibletomakeitharder
forathieftofindleverageandtomakethelockobvioustopassersby.• Removeunsecuredbikeparts,suchastheseat.
Multiple-Lock Method• Alllockscanbebroken.Yourjobistopresentanillusionofabove-average
resistance,convincingathiefthatstealingyourbikewillrequiretoomucheffort.
• UseamaximumU-lockorchainlockinconjunctionwithacablelock.Chancesareathiefwillseetwolocksandmoveontoanothervictim.
• SetuptheU-lockaroundyourreartire,frameandsomefixedobject.Thensnakethecablethroughyourfrontwheel,saddlerails,frameandtheU-lock(Pic.A).Youmaystillwalkawayfeelingwary,butyou’llknowthatyoudidthe best you could.
HOW TO CARE FOR LOCKS
EveryOnGuardLockisruggedlybuiltforlonglifeandtrouble-freeservice.Withminimalcare,yourOnGuardLockwillprovidesecurityandsmoothoperationformany years to come.Hereareafewtipsthatwillhelpyoukeepyourlockworkingefficiently:1. Lubricateyourlocksperiodicallywithalightmachineoil.Donotuse
graphiteinanyform!YourOnGuardLockisaprecisioninstrument,andgraphitemayactuallycausethelockingmechanismtostick.Applyoilinboth the keyway and shackle openings.
2. Locksusedoutdoorsmayrequireoccasionalcleaning.Todothis,submerse
themovernightinkerosene–letthemdrythoroughly–andapplyoil.3. Whenalockisoperatedinfrequentlyorexposedtosevereweather
conditions,internalworkingpartsmaybecometight.Inthesecases,exerta slight downward pressure on the shackle while the key is being turned. Doingthis3or4timeswillrelieveanytensionandwillusuallyrestoreeasyand normal operation of the lock.
4. Usecompressedairtohelpdislodgedebrisinthecylinder.5. keep locking assembly out of dirt and sand, debris will hinder the
performance and function of your lock.
