Pastor Search The Pastor Search Committee of First Baptist Church Knoxville is excited to announce that a candidate for Senior Pastor will be coming in view of a call the weekend of January 24-26. In partnership with our candidate, we've created several opportunities for you to meet him, his family, and for each of them to meet you! Here is the tentative schedule for our weekend together:

Youth Week 2014 - January 20-26 Each year we give our Middle School and High School students the opportunity to experience the various leadership positions within First Baptist. For one week, Youth Ministry@ 1B students will fill the roles of ministers, staff, and lay leaders within the church. They will attend staff meeting, "shadow" their real-world counterparts throughout the week, teach Sunday School classes, and lead a

special worship service. This year's Youth Week Youth-led Worship Service is Sunday, January 26, at 6 pm in the Sanctuary. Please make plans to come support our youth in this special tradition. January Is National Mentoring Month There are many more children who need a mentor at South Knoxville Elementary School. Will you consider using one hour per week to dedicate it to a child in need? Mentors are positive, fun, faithful, encouraging, a listener, a helper, and a friend. Anyone who has the love of God in their heart can fulfill these attributes of a mentor. We have boys and girls on the list who need a mentor very soon.

You may pick up an application from the literature rack by the water fountain on the 3rd floor crossover. All applications need to be in by March 16. We will have a training class in May. Contact Carol Linger at 963-9993 or [email protected], to let her know that you would like to mentor a child. LAST CALL! Pictorial Directory Our new pictorial directory will be going to press. If you want to submit a picture for the directory, please send to Rhonda Ward as soon as possible.
