Setting up your presentation can sometimes feel overwhelming, so here’s a checklist to help you spend more time sharing your passion for Mendeley with your colleagues, students or friends. Plan What are your audience’s needs? What you would like them to know by the time they leave? How will you be able to see if you’ve achieved this goal? What is the best way to present the information? A hands-on workshop? A demo? A live presentation? A webinar? Where can you host the event? If it’s hands-on, a computer lab or a space where people can bring their laptop might be best. Consider timing. What are the busy times in your audience’s schedules? How long do you want to take? Remember to allow time for Q&A. Promote Register your event. Visit www.mendeley.com/events and register the details of your event. We’ll advertise your event via our events calendar and help you to track attendees who sign up. Submit a merchandise request. As part of the event registration process you can request merchandise to distribute at your session. Give us 10 days’ notice to ship your swag! Share your event link. You’ll also receive a unique ID when you register your event. You can use this link to invite people to your session. Advertise! Think about how you get information on seminars.
