From The Hon'ble Vice Chancellor

'Alkesh Dinesh Mody Institute for Financial and

Management Studies' is a renowned department of the

University of Mumbai. The institute is providing ample

opportunities to the MMS students and help them to

acquire pertinent skills and rightful attitude to become

skillful employees. The Institute takes a deep interest in

grooming students and provides the appropriate platform

to establish highly meaningful relations with industry

professionals.

The institute is providing good infrastructure facilities inclusive of library facility, EBSCO database, ACE Equity database, SPSS Software, and Language lab facility. Institute has instituted tie-up with German Department Of the University of Mumbai for Certificate course in the German language for its students. Institute inspires students to attend workshops, which provide an overview of Capital Markets in a tie-up with BSE.

The institute has also set up Entrepreneur Cell and introduced certificateprogram in Entrepreneurship with the collaboration of NEN (Wadhwani Foundation).

Institute helps the students to connect and establish best relations with corporate and alumni on regular basis. The institute makes best efforts to groom and develops students as per the current business requirements, irrespective of specializations and domain.

Institute takes great interest in conducting various events related to the world of corporate with high enthusiasm. The placement cell of the institute has been making great efforts for furthering the existing and new corporate connections. In the last academic year (2016-17) Companies of high reputation from all domain areas visited the campus and offered wonderful packages to our best students. This year the Institute has organized job fair with 'Times of India' which was attended by more than 3000 students under the umbrella of the University of Mumbai.

Dear Recruiters,

It gives me an immense pleasure to welcome you to Alkesh Dinesh Mody Institute for Financial and Management Studies which is a department of Mumbai University. The institute is relentlessly taking endeavors and develop the institute as per corporate and student expectations. I am pleased to inform you all that this year Institute has been ranked among the best top 20 Government B Schools in India by "The Week –Mars Survey 2017". The institute has also been ranked among top 100 B- Schools in India in the category of "ROI" by Business Today – MDRA survey 2017.

Some of the initiatives made in the academic year 2017-18 that focus on student development are:• The institute has set up language lab for management students which are very useful to improve

their communication skills• Institute has been offering of "Certificate course in German" for MMS Students in association with

Department of German – University of Mumbai.• The software tools like SPSS, Ace Equity, and EBSCO are being provided.• Apart from regular entrepreneurship and business interface activities, the institute has been

collaborating with NGOs to sensitize students regarding the societal concern.• To strengthen Institute E –cell which we launched last year, the institute has signed MOU IIT

Mumbai, with Lithan – a Singapore based organization, The E Cell is helping students to connect with entrepreneurs and learn from their experiences.

The institute is striving to create future business leaders who can manage and create powerful organizations that can meet emerging market challenges. The course curriculum which has been recently revamped by the University of Mumbai is industry oriented and provides exposure to students to strengthen their theoretical knowledge with practical understanding. Efforts of the institute are complemented by good faculty support and infrastructure of Institute.

Institute maintains active association and interaction with industry. Institute also maintain active connections with its alumni and celebrates the accomplishment of its alumni regularly. Many of our alumni are receiving honors and awards from organizations and have made us proud of their achievements and success. Our efforts are also being recognized by industry and campus offers for final and summer placements are a reflection of the same. Institute is continuously striving to build on its database of companies and its outreach year on year basis.

I am very thankful to each one of you for your trust and support to ADMIS. Because of your support and association with us, the year 2017 brought much success to the institute. We have been ranked among top 20 Government B- Schools 2017 and among top 100 in terms of the highest ROI in the B-School survey conducted by reputed organizations like Week Mars and India Today B- School Survey 2017 in all over India. Apart from these, many of our alumni are reaching new heights and performing excellently in the organization and receiving many laurels from corporates.

We believe that the success of our institute could not have been possible if you all had not shown your trust in us. Your timely suggestions, interventions, and presence at the institute has made us a stable and recognized B- Schools. Your faith encourages us to work hard and put our best. The year 2016-17 was a very satisfactory phase at ADMIS. We have seen almost diverse sectors on campus and registered around 103 companies for final placements and 62 companies for summer placements. We were able to provide 100 % placement opportunities to students across specialization in Finance, Marketing, HR, and Operations with multiple options in final and summer placements. The innovative approach of placement cell in terms of the corporate interface had connected institute in many new firms and impressed them with ADMIS hospitality and talents of students.

I also thank our first association with Times of India to organize a job-fair at Mumbai University wherein almost 3000 students gave their interview and many of them got selected too in many organizations.

The focus of the speech of the legislators was on US & India Business Ties. Alkesh Dinesh Mody Institute for Financial and Management Studies organized first Alkesh Dinesh Mody memorial lecture at Convocation Hall, University of Mumbai. The Lecture was delivered by Shri Sujan Sinha, the CEO and MD of Shriram Housing Finance Limited. He spoke and addressed around 300 faculty, students, corporates and alumni. ADMIFMS firmly believes that imparting knowledge to women is the first step towards their empowerment. Keeping this idea in mind, Institute in Association with PG section of National Service Scheme, University of Mumbai organized "Cervical and Breast Cancer Awareness" Program.

The program helped in creating awareness and empowered females to fight these two leading causes of cancer. It equipped them with knowledge of early signs and diagnosis of the cancer.

Institute conducts every year mock interview session for SYMMS students before they appear for their final interview of campus placements to make them more confident and well equipped.

There were 20 Senior corporate executives invited this year to do Mock rehearsals of students in the specialization of Finance, Marketing, Human Resource & Operations as per corporate parameters. They evaluated students on the parameters of Basic Introduction ( Opening and Closing ), Soft skills, Competency and Analytical Skills, Appearance and Presentation, Subject knowledge and Current affairs. This Activity helped students to analyze their weak areas in order to work hard to get placed in various organizations.

They say 'Practice makes a man perfect' and with this aim in mind Institute organized the internal mock interview session where the SYMMS students got the chance to do their net practice before they go for their final interview process for campus placements.

Staff and faculty provided guidelines and helped students to hone their skills for better communication and presentation. The Objective of the activity is to meet the demand of the corporate world.

‘Munijan' is organized every year by University of Mumbai on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The central theme of initiative this year was 'Leveraging Technology For Rural Education'. ABOUT ADMIFMS

Alkesh Dinesh Mody Institute for Financial and Management Studies was established in the year 1994 as Institute of University of Mumbai. The Institute was co-founded by the Mr. Dineshbhai Mody in loving memory of his beloved son Late Shri. Alkeshbhai Dinesh Mody. The Institute was set up in response to growing market demand for a specialized course in the area of Financial Services and Investment Studies. The first course offered by the institute was ‘Post Graduate Diploma in Investment Studies’. PGDIS in the year 1997 was shaped into three year part time Masters Program in Financial Services – MFSM (Masters in Financial Services Management). The Institute started offering BMS program (Bachelor in Management Studies) from the year 2000. The institute initiated the MMS Program (Masters in Management Studies) in the year 2002. Today Institute is also offering Ph.D. program in Management.

The institute enjoys very good track record of varied achievements in academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The institute also has impressive a placement record. The recent achievements of the institute include the ABP News Award for the Best Industry Interface (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015), Dewang Mehta Award for the best academic input in the area of Finance (2011, 2012 & 2013) Amar Ujala Award for the Best Industry Interface (2011)
