Place Value Robot Created by S. Parker Graphics by Just So Scrappy
Use this place value robot to help children understand the concepts of one more, one less, ten more and ten less. In my classroom, I have the visual (pg. 2) hanging near my hundreds chart. As we learn about place value, students visualize that the number is on their tummy. They touch their head for ten less. This means they should look up to find the value for ten less.
Math Work Station Game: Copy and laminate the Place Value Robot and cards. Place the Place Value Robot into a sheet protector for longer use. Children will place the number card onto the center of the robot. Then, write one more, one less, ten more, ten less in the space provided. Extra hearts are provided to make this more difficult for older students.
