The Plot

It is an action packed teaser trailer based on Quantum of Solace. It is an action film with a tad of romance and is about an agent saving his one and true love. It’s jam-packed full of exciting clips including action, romance and fear which will keep the watcher on the edge of their seats.

Target Audience

My target audience will be a range from about 16-35 and mainly be male action enthusiasts. The audience will most likely be for example bond fanatics and will be a unique audience. But we will not only be targeting men but women as well through the posters for example in Bond posters we see a stylish yet attractive male who we would hope that he would appeal to our female audience. This is to captivate a wider audience and therefore reach a more global market.

Marketing

I think that our marketing which is a teaser trailer, a poster and a magazine front cover will main be viewed in places like youtube which is why it will have to be attractive to a young audience. Also we will try and advertise our posters in town centres and busy places so that they have the maximum amount of people to see it thus making our marketing scheme successful.

Institutions - MGM

MGM is nowadays considered a big institution and we have decided to use them as our institution because it is company that mainly focuses on action packed films just like ours. Its featured most of the modern films and has had any awards up to 205.

Research

Quantum of Solace has been a major influence on our decision to create our teaser trailer because of numerous things. Firstly the mise en scene in the trailer is incredible the way they use clothes to create a edgy atmosphere and the scenery in the background always fits in with the film. This is one of the main things we are going to concentrate on when creating our teaser trailer. Another key point is the editing especially the effects used. This will be tricky to mimic and will require a lot of effort but if we pull it off well we should create a similar effect on the audience. Finally probably the most key aspect of the teaser trailer is camera angles and shots. This is what will make our trailer unique because if we look how they use them in the trailer for example one of the first shots of Daniel Radcliffe in a chair in a dark room and you can only see half of his face creates a dark and mysterious atmosphere which sets the tone to the film.

Shot list

Our shot list will consist of many different shots involving lots of different locations. Our fist establishing shot will be our main character in a dark room with only light on one side of his face with key dialogue. It will be a closed in mid-shot which will have our main character sat down showing his upper body and his face with sunlight just shining on his face and that is mainly what you can see. When he speaks the camera has zoomed into hi s face so that it focuses on what he says. This will be slow and very short with only a couple of words and will lead you into a stream of high voltage action shots.

The next shot will be a man getting dragged towards the camera

Mise en scene- Key Locations

In order for our piece to work we need many different locations. This is because a teaser trailer has many short clips of different places to keep it interesting and therefore the audience will be on the edge of their seats leaving them with wanting more. Our first scene will require a dark room to set the atmosphere of the piece.

Research-Film Posters

MGM Studios posters seem to keep a main focus on the main character. As we can see through these examples MGM Studios use this technique extremely well and keep everything else in the poster simple and dull so that the main character grabs your attention. This is why we have chosen to style our poster in a similar way. I think that there is an attractive stylish man on the front to entice a female audience.
