Concept…We hope to create a video with a rough edge toit that feels homemade but not unprofessional. The video should feel realand gritty but also fresh and edgy. We plan to incorporate lots of creative techniquesto create a fast paced and imaginative video.

Our desired outcome would be an inspiring video full of creative ideas and effective use of technology. We don’t want our video to conform to expected standards. We want it to expand the boundaries and set trends. We also want the video to enhance the music and represent the musician in an accurate way.

Style & look…We want the overall look of our video to be quite homemade and quirky. We also want it to feel quite real and gritty to go with the serious subject of our chosen song. We plan on using a variety of creative techniques in simple ways to give the video an interesting but basic feel. The next slide has links to videos that have inspired us.

BLU

Unlike all of the other texts we have been influenced by (namely music videos), “BLU” is a street artist. I think his style would go well with a music video as it is

basic but effective and almost iconic. The video for “Golden Cage” linked on the previous slide is done in a similar style to BLU and I feel it works really well.

Audience

The audience we are aiming for would demographically be between the ages of 15 and 25, so we are aiming our video at teenagers and young adults. This group of people are most commonly stereotyped as “youths” these days, a label given by the older generation. The actual psychographic grouping you would give our audience is radicals or hedonists. These are people that like to enjoy life as it comes, here and now. They are probably largely students and it is very likely that they enjoy going to see live music. These factors might effect our video as we may wish to use some footage of performance. This is unlikely though as it would make shooting our video a lot harder.

Possible issues…There are not really that many potential issues that may arise whilst filming. We have good idea of our locations and the people we want to use in our video so we are all sorted in that aspect. We also have access to all the technology we require so this shouldn’t be an issue either. The only thing that may cause problems is transport and getting everybody involved to the right place at the right time with all the required equipment. We should be able to keep on top of this issue by getting together and deciding on a filming schedule.
