• I have know what of knowing if using GIS to map pioneer cemeteries will show patterns of historical significance. If it does, I think my next step will be to work within the framework of the earliest settled counties in Iowa along the Mississippi River. I have contact with several counties that do have pioneer cemeteries listed and it may be possible to begin with those.
