CHILE

After WW2 /1939-1945/ Chile pass through a big economic development with the exportation of the mines and industry . Therefor many countries were interested in being part of this economic richness of the modern Chile , specially USA. In this time socialist and communist unite the people, as result Salvador Allende(1908-1973) was elected president.

THE COUP D'ETAT

In September 11 1973 the military of the Conservative party of Chile, with help of USA Overthrow Salvador Allende.

Augusto Pinochet stablished a dictatorship that ended the socialist empire (extermine leftism) .

DICTATOR'S REGIME

Immediately he impose a military regiment, suspended the constitution. He fight the socialist , killing and sending to prison those who had ideas against him. No imigrants & you needed an invitation to the country

Given financial ideas that supported by Pinochet & the U.S. build an international financial institutions, free-market, and fiscally conservative policies, drastically transformed from an economy isolated from the rest of the world, with strong government intervention, into a liberalized, world-integrated economy.

1991*National Commission for Truth publishes a indictment of Pinochet's dictatorship, officially counting 2,279 deaths in "political violence".

1993*Wins the general election, Christian Democrat Eduardo becomes President.

1998* Pinochet becomes a senator, with a

guarantee of immunity for life. *82-year-old undertakes a private trip to London for back surgery. *The Spanish judges investigating British police arrest a sedated Pinochet at his London clinic.

Fighting communism, Pinochet found common cause with the military dictatorships of Bolivia, Brazil, ParaguayUruguay, and later, Argentina. The six countries eventually formulated a plan

USA was involved with Chile, they assist Pinochet on the coup.

Spain investigated Pinochet, for the torture and death of spanish people.

Britain was involved when Chile helped them on bases and intelligence when the Falksland war.

Downfall

The the national and international power finally could weakened him. The opposition to the regime protests in the streets, in 1980, & Pinochet arranged a plebiscite asking the people whether he should rule for another eight years... In 1988 the constitution of Chile prohibit the renovation of Pinochet's government.
