RONALDMcDONALD HOUSE
Ronald McDonald House (RMH) is a 'home away from home' for families with seriously injured or sick childrenreceiving hospital treatment. Located on a property within the grounds of the John Hunter Hospital, the houseprovides accommodation and support for families, short & long term in times of crisis. This non profit facility is runby a small number of staff and many volunteers to assist with daily operations and maintenance. We are treatedwith an inspiring talk followed by a tour of the accommodation (unless the house is full), common areas includingthe kitchen, lounge, playroom, outdoor area and the dining room, where the wonderful volunteers preparemorning tea for us. We then take a short scenic drive of East Lake Macquarie before we stop for f or an all you caneat buffet lunch at Cardiff RSL. We continue our scenic tour of Lake Macquarie as we drive home via the westernsuburbs of Speers Point, Toronto, Rathmines andMorisset.
