How to install Jython Scripts for Switch Drivers This Technical Reference describes the procedure to add a Jython script to an existing PIM installation.
1. Find the switch in the location tree, highlight the switch and select the “Services” tab. The unsupported services are listed in the “Status” field. In this example, the unsupported services are: Chassis, Port-to-MAC, Version and VLAN. Under the “Details” column, more information may be available by clicking “View Details”.

2. New drivers for unsupported switch services are in the form of Jython scripts as shown with a .py
extension. In this example, there are Jython scripts to fix the Chassis and Version services. Place the scripts in a temporary folder on the PIM server such as c:\Jython Scripts. Note: As part of the installation process, the scripts are copied to: \\PANDUIT PIM\jboss\server\pvng\data\jythonscripts (for a default installation, the Jython scripts are copied to: C:\Program Files\PANDUIT PIM\jboss\server\pvng\data\jythonscripts).

3. Select the services to be upgraded. In this case, we have Jython scripts for the Chassis and Version services.
4. Then click “Modify Services”
5. The “Modify Services” window will pop up. Select “Jython” under “Sub Driver” and click “Upload”.

6. Select the Jython script and click “Open”.
7. Repeat for each Service. The script names will display in the form. Click “Test”.

8. During the script verification test, the “Test Result” field will display “in Progress”.
9. When the test is complete, the “Test Result” field should display “Success”.

10. Click “Save” to save the scripts and “Yes” to confirm.
11. At this point, you will be asked if you want to rediscover the switch with the new driver. This is an optional step. For this example, click “Now”.

12. If you select to immediately rediscover the switch, the “Status” field will display “In Progress” during the discovery. This can be seen by selecting the switch in the Location Tree and selecting the “Services” tab.

13. After discovery completes, the “Status” field should say “Available” for the services with new switch drivers. In the example, we updated the switch drivers for the Chassis and Version services; however, the Port-to-MAC and VLAN services remain unavailable.
