From staff reports The Anderson County High
School DARE Role Models spoke with fifth graders at Emma B. Ward and Saffell Street Elementary schools on April 18 about a variety of top-ics, according to a news release.
Fifth grade DARE students had the opportunity to ask the students questions about the transition from elementary school to middle school and high school.
“Common topics of con-versation were peer pressure situations, bullying, and the importance of participating in after school extra curricular
activities,” according to the release. “The DARE Role Mod-els consisted of high school stu-dents who participate in a wide variety of activities, clubs and sports teams.”
The 2013 5th Grade Gradu-ation Ceremony will be held May 3 at the Anderson County middle school starting at approximately 8:30 a.m. and lasting one hour. Parents and family are welcome to attend, event organizers said.
The students will then spend the day at the county park with the Role Models and the Sheriff’s Office deputies and staff.
