Teaching of standard measurement methods

of medical diagnostics

Electrocardiography (ECG), Electromyography (EMG),

Elektrooculography (EOG) and the measurement of the

muscle stretch reflex are methods which are used rou-

tinely in medical diagnostics – for the

diagnosis of complex nerve diseases, but also by

general practitioners to measure heart activity.

These four diagnostic methods use electrophysiological

measurements, uncomplicated in their uses, as they

are non-invasive: the signals are simple read off the

skin surface.

FeaturesComplete didactical solution of four diagnostic standard methods of heart, blood circuit and nerve diseases

Many interesting applications, e.g. velocity measurement during signal transmission in nerve cells, reading speed and reaction time measurements and fitness comparison between trained and untrained test persons

With the Electrophysiology Lab a multi-use

measurement system is available for human physiology

training labs in medical sciences and biology teaching at

universities, with which all these four methods can be

realised.

All experiments use the same computer-assisted data

acquisition system – switching to another data

acquisition technology during lab training is not

necessary. This means that students can focus solely

on performing the experiment, taking measurement

readings and data analysis.

Set of four electrophysiology experiments

Computer-assisted data acquisition system Cobra3 Basic-Unit with Cobra3 Universal Writer software

and measure software for data analysis, Bio-Amplifier for signal amplification, electrode collecting cable,

sensors for ECG (P4020111), EOG(P4070511), EMG (P4030111) and muscle stretch reflex (P4030211), reflex

hammer with trigger function.
