PhotoshopEvaluation Question 4 Previous experience Before starting my AS coursework, I had never used photo shop before, this meant that I had to teach myself all of the tools and how to navigate myself around the software. I practiced a lot on the site, for instance I created a college magazine on the software to enhance my basic skills, this really helped when It came to actually making my music magazine. After working on photo shop now for over 2 years, I find it a lot easier to use and I think that my standard of skills has increased a lot. In my AS planning and research, I watched numerous Youtube videos to help with my skills, learning the very basic and fundamentals of photo shop has allowed me to make a realistic product in both my AS and A2 coursework pieces.

Photo shop toolsLasso tool

The lasso tool allows you to cut out backgrounds from images, before a2 I didn'tt know how to use this tool, above shows the dramatic effect it had on my work and images. I think the cutting out looks very realistic and is done well, this helped with the professional look I was going for. Ruler tool

I used the ruler tool a lot in my A2 coursework, this tool allows you to use a ruler basically like in real life which allowed me to get all of my text in a straight line, the image above shows me using this tool on my contents page. This definitely contributed towards the professionalism of my magazine and helped in making It look like a real product.

Brightness/Contrast toolFor a number of my images, I used the brightness and contrast tool, I used this to enhance the appearance of my model, the image above shows me actually using the tool on my main front cover image. I think this tool really helped with the appearance of my model in terms of making her look even better which helps to attract my target audience.
