What would you do if you live in a surrounding filled with tea shops and trishaws? The people in the coming pictures are from the teashops of Yangon. Specifically, they are from Shwe Taung Gyar Road. These people have totally different lifestyles compared to all of us! They use different transportations, have different daily routines and different life. So what are you waiting for, sit tight and enjoy the descriptive photo essay.

This in in Ko Thu’s Vegetable shop. The young lady that is sitting at the steps of the door is Ko Thu’s daughter. Our interview passed successfully and ended quite fast. They were really kind to us.

This is the one of the main transportation in Myanmar. People who can’t afford for cars use a trishaw to transport. For a ride on it, it’s usually under 1,000 kyats. This is U Than Sein driving us.

This is the toilet of Ko Thu’s house. The toilet bowls they use are most likely not to be like the one we use. They usually use squat bowls.

The leaf with nuts and other stuff in it is called betel nut. The Burmese people chew this because it makes them alert like when people drink coffee but the side effects of eating this is that it destroys your teeth. After chewing on it, they don’t swallow it they spit it out.

This is usually how our neighbors and most of the Burmese wash their clothes. This neighbor’s house is on Shwe Taung Gyar road.

This is Ko Thu’s shop. When Ko Thu and his wife are busy, the daughter takes care of the business. Their shop is combined with their home. So, front is where they sell and the back is where sleep and eat.

This is in Khin Hnin Wey’s juice stand. She is a trishaw driver and also does business. So this is how she earns her money.
