Principal’s Message

Quality Education in a Stimulating Environment

Dear parents and carers Kindergarten Orientation Last Thursday saw many new and returning families for the parent session of our Kindergarten Orientation program. Mrs Turner and her team presented lots of interesting information to the gathering in readiness for the first transition visit for our newest incoming students today.

Professional Learning On Monday afternoon teachers were engaged in a session on developing a new school vision to carry us for the next three years. We are undergoing evaluations of our current school plan, survey information and school data in readiness for creating a new plan for 2018-2020. Also on Monday Mr Wilkins, Mrs Way and Mrs Ryan met to plan the implementation of a professional learning pro-ject next year called formative assessment. Stay tuned for more information on formative assessment and the posi-tive impact it will have on student learning. Staff Information Mrs Stevenson our office manager has been seconded to the Department's High Performance Directorate starting next Monday until the beginning of the new school year in 2018. She will be developing resources and professional learning for school administration staff. Mrs Cross will be relieving in her position Monday to Thursday and we wel-come Mrs Sally-Anne Copp on Fridays until the end of the year.

I would like to inform you that Mrs Beech will be on sick leave for the remainder of the term as she navi-gates her way through breast cancer treatment. I'm sure you will join me in sending our thoughts and well wishes to her during this time. I have spoken with her and she continues to have a positive, optimistic atti-tude. I ask that you respect her privacy, however, well wishes may be left at the school office and we will ensure they get to Mrs Beech.

Volunteers Needed

The canteen is in need of new volunteers to assist as we’re sadly losing 12 Year 6 mums at the end of this year as their children move onto high school. All training is provided. You will require a WWCC (Working With Children Check) and a sense of humour! A normal rostered day is from drop off until approximately 3.00pm once a month, however, if you are only available once a term or for a few hours in the morning or afternoon, please call into the canteen to see me. Can you help on the following days? Wednesday 8/11, 22/11 and 29/11 Thursday 30/11 Friday 3/11, 1/12 and 15/12 Flexischools is here!

Lunch orders can now be placed (by 9.00am) and paid for online using Flexischools. See details on the next page. Leanne Best Canteen Supervisor
