Principal’s Message Quality Education in a Stimulating Environment Dear parents and carers NSW All Schools Rugby League Carnival Along with our winning Under 10s team, our Under 11s have been offered a wild card entry into next Monday’s competition at Blacktown. The surprise phone call was well received by Mr Field yesterday. The team was very excited this morning when they were told. Good luck to both teams for Monday. Athletics Carnival Yesterday’s athletics carnival was a great success, even with a head wind for runners nearly all day. Students were once again great representatives for our school. Thankyou to the many supportive parents who cheered on from the sidelines and to the windswept teachers for their efforts as well. A great day out! Staffing We have had a number of teachers succumb to winter illness of late which means a number of casual teachers have been employed to cover classes. Wherever possible if a teacher requires more than one day’s absence, we try to engage the same casual teacher. This is, however, not always possible. It appears many other local schools are facing the same issues as it is proving harder and harder to engage quality casual teachers. On occasion when we are unable to engage a casual teacher a class may need to be split to neighbouring classes for the day. I can assure you students are well taken care of on these few occasions. Principal’s Message

Quality Education in a Stimulating Environment

Dear parents and carers NSW All Schools Rugby League Carnival Along with our winning Under 10s team, our Under 11s have been offered a wild card entry into next Monday’s competition at Blacktown.

Wherever possible if a teacher requires more than one day’s absence, we try to engage the same casual teacher. This is, however, not always possible. Athletics We had very good weather yesterday which made for a great athletics carnival. Our students displayed excellent behaviour and all of our events received a wonderful turn out by the students. The team chants were excellent. I was on the far side of the track at the time, but I could still hear every chant loud and clear. Our students compet-ed in every event and it was great to see the magnificent turn out from students just "having a go!". Well done Engadine West and thankyou to the staff for organising and delivering the carnival. Open Day Our open day is next week on the Thursday 3 August. Please come along. We have open classrooms from 10.15am and our open day assembly will start from 11.40am. English ICAS testing Our English ICAS test will be this Tuesday 1 August. All students doing the test will meet at the library when the bell goes in the morning. Every student has received this information and should remember to bring a pencil and eraser. I wish all students good luck in the test. Jason Wilkins
