PGPLT - Group 3 – The story so far
Introduction
• As part of the PGPLT Module Three, we have been asked to create a resource for people interested in Work Based Learning as a group based project
• Group 3 Consists of: -

• As a group, we decided to go with the suggested pbwiki Blog route to get our information across
• Then we set about gathering and creating different useful resources from a variety of sources

Documents on our Wiki
• Relevant available documents were found and there electronic versions linked to the Wiki, such as the HEA: Work-Based Learning Report, the ESECT Report on WBL and the University of Derby approaches to personalised curricula for WBL

• As well as this, we produced our own mini overview guide as a downloadable PowerPoint document to WBL
• This resource highlights academic definitions of WBL as well as the common misconceptions and accepted models of WBL.
• It goes further to outline the advantages and disadvantages of WBL to Employee, Employer and the University

Video Interviews on our Wiki
• We also video interviewed key members of staff within the WBL unit at the University of Derby and asked some key questions about WBL working practices
• We have also included University promotional video material and a related interview on Work Based Action Learning

Pod Casts on our Wiki
• An interview will be conducted with Ann Minton, LTW
coordinator On Monday 18th June 2007 with key questions being asked about the main aspects of WBL from a University, Employer and Employee point of view
• In the interest of widening participation we have tried to include a number of multimedia resources to suit the requirements of as many different users as possible
