ISSUE 6, JULY 2013
07-Aug General Meeting in the Library
Resource Centre at 7:00pm
IMPORTANT DATES
FROM THE P&F ASSOCIATION
Parents & Friends Association Inc.
CORE VALUES:
We are a nurturing Christian community, basing all we do on the values of:
RESPECT for ourselves, for others and the environment. RESPONSIBILITY for our actions.
HONESTY in our interaction with others. COMMITMENT to achieve our best in all we do.
DISCO
The P&F Discos are a highlight for the children each year. Our first Disco was a great
success and the kids all had a great time. However, there were a couple of issues that I
would like to discuss:
Tickets are not able to be purchased on the night. Ticket purchase forms are sent
home with the oldest student in the family and they need to be completed and
forwarded to the class teacher before the RSVP date.
Parents of the Kindergarten to Year 2 students are reminded that they must stay to
supervise their child/ren.
The older children will not be permitted to leave the front doors of the Gym at the
conclusion of their session until a parent or guardian has come to the doors to
collect them. Please be patient and aware that in order to keep the children safe
we need to separate the different age groups so we can monitor this properly.
THANK YOU
I would like to say a very big thank you to the three Prefects who attended the last Disco.
Liam Heavey, Brianna Humphries and Jasmine Wynen-Gaugg helped out on the night,
dancing with the students, handing out spot prizes and assisting with games and dance
moves! They should be very proud of the way they conducted themselves.
QUIZ NIGHT
It has certainly been a busy month for the Committee and parent helpers. On Saturday 29
June 2013, the P&F Association hosted our second Quiz Night. It was another great success
and I would like to thank Brendan Kilmartin for being our King of Quiz again and for
keeping us once again entertained and stretching everyone’s brain cells with a wide
range of questions. This year Brendan had a partner in crime, Rory Marchant who played
the saxophone for us during the music round and was also subjected to a high speed
chase on scooters by James Bond (played by Brendan Kilmartin). Thank you again for
entertaining everyone!
Over $7000 was raised on the night which will be spent around the School immediately. I
would like to thank all of our sponsors for donating an amazing range of prizes and services
for the night. Without your generosity the night would not have been such a great success.
In closing I would like to thank the P&F Committee and Parent Helpers for all their hard
work. The planning and organising that goes into a Quiz Night is
huge and many hours of precious time was given by our
Committee.
A very big thank you also to the parents, teachers and staff for booking tables and bringing along friends and
family. Without you the night would not have been such a resounding success.
On behalf of the P&F Committee I thank you and I hope you all enjoyed yourselves.
