5 Key Strategies to Help Develop Self-

Regulation and Executive Function Skills

No cost for this presentation.

What are self-regulation and execu-

tive function skills? How do these skills de-

velop? And, how are they believed to be a

core deficit in many disabilities, including

attention disorders, learning disabilities,

autism spectrum disorders, and many oth-

ers?

Learn what the current scientific re-

search tells us about these questions and

Little Dresses for Africa

Join Us for Sewing Day, Saturday, Nov. 5 The Missions Committee is sponsoring a sewing day on Saturday, Nov. 5. From

10 a.m. to 3 p.m., we will be making pillowcase dresses for the Little Dresses for Af-

rica organization. All you need is a portable sewing machine, basic sewing supplies*,

a packed lunch, and a smile on your face. If you do not have a portable sewing ma-

chine and would like to help, you can help with various duties like cutting, ironing,

sizing, etc.

We are asking for the following donations, which can be left in the designated con-

tainer in the missions area in the east entrance of the church:

Pillowcases in cute patterns that are in good, clean condition or cute fabric at

least a yard long.

Rick rack — all colors.

Extra-wide double-fold bias tape — all colors, but especially white.

Thread — all colors, but especially white.

Ribbon — 7/8-inch and all types of grosgrain ribbon. Also needed is any type of

trim, such as lace, single-fold bias tape, and various types and sizes of ribbon.

Donations to cover shipping costs. (It costs $2 per dress.)

We will also probably need to borrow some long extension cords and a couple of

ironing boards and irons.

*Basic sewing supplies include scissors, seam rippers, cutting mats, yard sticks,

thread, etc.

Please call Ann Poirier, 952-985-5896, with questions and to RSVP so we know how

many tables to set up. Thank you.
