Peterson's Annual Distance Learning Survey 2019-2020

Welcome to the 2020 edition of Peterson's Annual Distance Learning Survey! Each year, Peterson's collects information from roughly 4000 colleges and universities and we are honored to have you participate in it!!

Peterson's is the country's leading provider of information about colleges and universities. Every year, millions of parents and students seek out resources to help them choose the best school for them and find opportunities to help them pursue studies. The information you provide in this survey is an invaluable tool for students across the globe. Your participation ensures that prospective students have the most up-to-date and relevant information about your institution's programs..

How to use this documentThis PDF survey form is the second part of two connected surveys, namely: Main Survey and Degree Program Survey (this document). You will need to complete the Main Survey only once; however, you should complete a separate Degree Program Survey for each of your program.

Before answering the survey, please also take note of the following:

Press Ctrl+S to save your progress. Like saving an offline document, ensure that you constantly save your work in the PDF to avoid repeating the process if a sudden shutdown happens. Saving can also be helpful in case you need to revisit the document and make some revisions.

For institutions with multiple degree programs, this form has to be filled out as many times as the number of programs. To do that, follow these steps:

1. Fill this out with information about a unit that you prefer to key in first. Once done, name the file using this format:[Institution Name]-[Degree Program Name].

2. To fill this out with information about another program, click File (at the upper left hand corner of the screen) and select Save As. Name the file accordingly using the format given above.

3. Start filling this out again, but this time, with information about the unit that you prefer to key in next to the first one that you have accomplished. Repeat these steps until all units have been encoded in separate PDFs.

References needed to answer the survey are linked in the questions. For such questions, the linked references will appear in blue underlined fonts like this: [sample reference appearance]

Feel free to email or print this for sending to colleagues who might contribute answers to the survey

Our definition of distance learning: a planned learning experience in which student and teacher are separated by physical distance. Blended programs may also be included, with a distance component of approximately 60% or higher. Completely online programs may also be included.

Degree programs ranging from certificates to doctoral degrees may be included as a Degree Program.

All questions are referring to the current academic year unless noted.

When filling out PDF forms, please include the degree programs you offered in the past academic year (2018-2019). If the award is no longer offered, changed its name, or new, check the appropriate boxes under Question 1. We request this so that we can update your list of awards/programs accordingly.

1. Name of Degree Program

Is this degree program currently being offered by your school?

Yes No – Remove Program

If the program is now inactive, please answer "No" so you may be taken to the end of the survey page. Refrain from answering other fields and just save the file as it is, retaining only details like Name of Degree Program and the selected "No" box above.

Degree program name changed?

Yes No

If yes, enter the desired new degree program name change below.

New degree program?

3. Please give the official name of your degree or award program. Repeating the degreeacronym will duplicate the information online (so if you put MBA Business Administration hereand have put MBA in Question 2, this will print as MBA MBA in Business Administration).

4. Choose up to three classifications for your program. These are based on CIP classificationcodes at the highest level. Codes cannot be added to the survey.

5. Are any standardized tests required to apply for admission to this program?

Yes No

6. Through which Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or U.S. Department ofEducation (USDE) recognized agency is this distance learning program accredited (this list onlycontains program-level accreditation)?

We collect school accreditation separately from this survey, so this question focuses only on a very specific programmatic accreditation through CHEA or USDE. This list is updated yearly at the beginning of the data collection season and does not include regional accrediting agencies. It is a set list and cannot be altered or added to during active data collection.

Select the classification from the dropdown list (smaller box). Your selections will then be reflected in the text field below (bigger box above the dropdown list). If you want to remove a classification from the text field, just highlight it then delete. Do not select more than three classifications. If you do so, the succeeding entries will be disregarded.
